Aurora and Ren find themselves in the setting of the trails games. Aurora has the knowledge and Ren has the memories of some (mostly unimportant) person once named Gary.
pooling the fragments they can recall together Aurora and Ren have an idea of what will likely happen in the world they find themselves in with out their intervention.
that said they keep finding reasons to intervene but try to not limit the agency of those they come to care for or give the villeins of the story too many hints of what could have been.

note: i do plan to add more game/anime settings to this as a multiverse type thing ill build on. this project will take me years to finish.

a note on my current writing process:
i am writing Path of Cold Iron as a way to challenge and test my Path of Cold Iron skills mainly by learning to change my writing style to fit a different format (this is something i do for fun)

the prologue for this is going to be a little long, this is to set up the story changes going forward. For instance characters having different friends and allies different then in the trails series. i am planing to show some events from both the villein and hero sides partly so as not to follow the trails plot in the same way or from the same perspective.

for the start their are few time skips. in part these are like training montages as this story starts from the mc as a baby and i needed to have something to fill the time and expand the story but was not going to write every day of their life for like 20 plus years. the time skips should slow to be at most a few weeks instead of a few years when i get to the in universe year where the trials in the sky game starts.
