Honestly it was good. I liked how the author didn't give everything away, lot of things are mentioned in passing but not explained, such as the MC's hallucinations. It would make no sense for her to elaborate on visions that she knows are fake, and which she dismisses within seconds of them appearing, as she's lived with them for ages. Or what she actually is. We don’t find out her actual race until near the end of the book.
Some of it was a bit hard to read, especially combat as she uses exclusively improvised weapons early on. So in one paragraph it's a bone or an antler she's using and in the next it's a dagger or a spear or a club. Might just be I have poor reading comprehension though.
Happily looking forward to VOL 2 of the rewrite so I can continue to follow our lil’ half-breed’s adventure, as the author intends.
