I don't know which studio or person came up with this word first but I do know that it was a brilliant idea.

It was an excellent idea to spice up the stagnant shows with nothing else to show. Showing the struggles of a normal person who gained supernatural powers through different means and methods, showing abilities that every human desired but couldn't.

A bait, attracting humans who so desperately wanted it.

I was also the same, A normal person who after getting his hands on these abilities screwed up, big time.
