Synopsis

Most people look for escapes in their life, and Myles Vester always is looking for a way to leave the world where his parents neglect him. He escapes into VR, exploring one of the most popular, the VRMMO Stellara Nova. When his last character died a foolish death, he's stuck trying to figure out his next steps, when he gets the chance to try out an experimental long-term VR program.

Taking the chance and diving back into the world of Stellara Nova, there is a minor glitch between his new hardware and the game. He finds himself spawning the life of a randomly generated female body, and a lot of confusing emotions as the newly minted Kaela strives to make back her place in the galaxy.

**This story is being posted here on ScribbleHub and on Royal Road. This work is my own, and should not be posted elsewhere.**

This book is just a silly little project to help me with my daily writing goal of putting out 2000 words per day! If you stick around and enjoy it, then I'm so glad!

Be warned, this book is written around a trans woman and her experiences of discovering that fact, and hate won't be tolerated in the comments or anywhere else regarding this. It's a fun story for people to enjoy, not a punching bag.

    Status: Chapter 21

My interest in the novel dropped around the chapter 20 mark but I'll probably pick it up again in the future.

So far in the story we were introduced to an interesting VRMMO sci-fi world of space ships, corporations and mercenary work (reminding me of settings like Outer Worlds or Star Citizen). Although at first I was mostly indifferent to the MC and the side characters, they grew on me as the story progressed.

The pacing and world building of the novel was also pretty good until a bit before the suprise reveal of the Big Bad, where it seems to rush a bit. Tags such as:

Are being introduced into the mix, but it doesn't seem too bad. If you are bad with these sort of things, I would advise for you not to read it.
(Minor complaint) I wish the author took more time to expand on the dystopian society or just wrote more about MC's adventures in the VR world before they plunged us head first into the dark themes of the story.

From my perspective, the author essentially pigeonholed themselves into this dark route and introduced the first villian a bit too early without properly laying the groundwork of character development and world building. Like, I would actually care for the side characters being introduced IRL if the MC wasn't in such a predicament.

Aside from that, I'd say it's well worth a read if it catches your interest.

    Status: chapter 23: reunions

This novel is both entertaining and angerinducing (in a good way). You really feel for the MC, they deserve much better that what they got. The characters have nice interactions, and people don't feel left out. As for the vr game itself,   it has clear mechanics doesn't feel drawn out, and it just feels like a real game people would play.

I will keep reading this one!
