No "redemption" needed.  While I wouldn't have wished your laptop death upon you, a dark story was a worthy addition. Not every story needs to end in sunshine and rainbows for Harry.  (Since you are making things more realistic, lets be really real... Harry should die... a lot... in any universe without thick durable plot armor.)

Murderhobos are fun! 'Harry the Murderhobo' could be an interesting fiction! Similar to what you already wrote in the past, but with Harrys as an utter bastard, no remorse MH. Rampaging through all fiction.

And it was only sad - dark because Harry needlessly suffered. If EVERYONE ELSE suffered, it would be entertaining! 

I haven't been on there in years, either. I've just been too busy, sometimes out of commission, and sometimes too depressed to go looking at what I left behind. 

Well, quite honestly, what you write now is a big improvement to what you wrote then. Just stop being sad and be awesome instead!

Also interested in this. I'm sure I wasn't alone in thinking it would be a tragedy if you were to lose your original drafts of various stories; even if you could recover things from various sites, having those originals is meaningful. ... lets not even talk about you losing work that you haven't yet published.

Author hasn't been around since mid-March. I think that his laptop did finally, and completely, fail. Which, if his many works weren't properly backed-up elsewhere would be TRAGIC!  Anyone wanting to get his works going again should remember the "Tip" button links to paypal; helping make that laptop a bit more affordable speeds up his return.

I remember him saying something about his data getting deleted or lost and then losing the motivation to continue, but he also said that he might come back to continue it, I myself really like the story and would love too see it continue

Disk clean up and then drive optimiser? That usually gives me loads more room to work with as it can erase old system files

Did you consult the proper debug-rituals and pray to the glorious machine god-emperor? Sounds like servo skulls should be consulted 🤣🤣 yea windows does that sometimes when it runs into a bug when fetching update files, nothing you can do about it but copy the important stuff off it and factory reset it 🫂

Data drives have a limited lifetime. HDDs are limited by how long a motor and other movable parts inside them could spin. SSDs are limited by number of times data could be written on them. Laptops usually have SSD and one reaching limits of it's life will behave exactly like that. There is no way to save SSD that reached it's limit but usually only that part needs replacement, not the whole laptop, though old laptops tend to have other issues as well.

I'm also posting two new AMP chapters in a little bit. The first is about 18,000 words and I wrote 55,000 more for the next and I still didn't finish, so it'll be a two-parter.

Its almost like someone was trying to tell everyone "the hellscape blizzard is taking a break, GO OUTSIDE (I'm turning off your power)."  Hopefully the utilities people had a chance to fix downed lines and get things temporarily back to normal while the grid was down.

You seem to be as "off grid" as one can be without voluntarily living in the woods. Kudos, valued writer, kudos ❤️

@Tajarim is warhammer 40k good?, I don't actually know much about it except for there out of pocket Orcs and Emperor that sounds like Jesus Christ but he is a full bound atheist

Warhammer 40k is full of very hardcore and unforgiving lore, with bigger fights costing million to billions of lives on the regular. The Emperor is a corpse only surviving through the daily ritual sacrifice of loads of people, he's one of the godlike entities of the 'verse . It's bloody complicated, but pretty neat. 

The bit with the painted action figures is a nerd thing, though, so I don't see the appeal in that part. 

John could stay in a universe for 20k years tieing several universes together in chronological order to lead up to 40k universe would be really interesting read. The rise and fall of the galaxy. The glory to madness and insanity. The birth of the chaos gods. It would be a real challenge for John both via powers and mentally 

Could only do that if he was somehow kept from interfering. He would otherwise definitely prevent those events.
