"But you guys deserve better, that is why I'm making this announcement." That's the thing, though. We don't deserve it. You don't owe us a good story. You don't owe us steady releases. This entire web-sight is like Halloween. I come dressed in my cheap vampire costume, knock at your door and demand candy. Then you generously supply 3-4 king sized candy bars and I'm blown away. I may or may not remember to say "Thank you" before running to the next house for more candy. Halloween is great, and I'm glad there's plenty of people who participate on the giving candy side, but you don't have to. Sometimes life gets in the way and you have to skip Halloween this time. Sometimes you can show up, but you can only afford 1 mini candy bar per kid. Sometimes you pass out candy corn and a toothbrush and that's ok. I'm just glad you're giving me candy.
Thank you for taking the time to tell us this, as well as your reasoning. So many authors are just like "Schedule? Not anymore! Suck it" and give no explanation, or maybe just say "Sorry, IRL stuff. Next release will be, uh, whenever, for the foreseeable future" which I guess is better?
But also, I'm glad you are the sort of person who not only knows that their mental health and quality of writing is more important than their self-imposed deadlines, but also is willing to give up on said deadlines to take care of themselves. I've seen too many good authors just vanish off the face of the earth after deciding that writing is too stressful, when the only stress is because of the deadline (this goes for translators too). Take care of yourself, and make this as good as you feel is necessary in order to be happy writing it.
I look forward to seeing what you produce, regardless of when you produce it. See you next time!
Well, I will try to keep a steady release schedule. It won't be set or as rigid as this one. Worst case scenario--once a week. So, yeah. Thanks for reading and for the support though.
@Azrie When it comes to a release schedule I suggest you just settle into what feels natural. I'm an author myself and am posting on a different site under the same name. I have four fictions, so keeping that many active at once can be stressful. I have settled into a cycle for my fictions however that takes an average of ten days. I'm not one of those fast writers who can update daily nor would I try to.
Don’t worry about us, i’m glad that you’re even willing to work on this series. You are more important than us.
I just really like this novel. Idk. Maybe I'm a simple man, but I enjoy this.
Eh, the story is great. Just a little alteration to the formatting and a bit of information on what POV you are writing from and you would be set(discounting my personal preferences and opinions). This is still written better than a crap ton of stories I’ve seen, otherwise I would have dropped it long ago.
Oh, trust me, I have been there. I had to cut my own schedule back to every 3 days myself, it is kinda surprising how stressful every 2 days can actually be.
As for how I keep up my quality while being on a schedule, well... unfortunately, it's because I wind up using my SubscrebeStar subscribers as a test group. I give them my advanced chapters, and then I am able to catch my mistakes in the advanced chapters, and then I correct them by the time they come out to the ScribbleHub release. (And yet, there are STILL some mistakes hiding in there. At least I catch the ones that require me to modify or move entire paragraphs from one chapter to another.)
Anyway, still, don't kill yourself over this. You are putting yourself out there, which adds some pressure to perform, but actually you produce far better work when you are having fun with it. It's fine if you can keep up the quality even when it starts to feel like a chore, but that's really rare talent to be able to do that. It's pretty clear you are probably the type who needs to be having fun in order to make good work, so take some distance and let your self calm down.
Ok...its better now
Its fine even if you went on a hiatus it whod be fine whith me i know i whotent be able to post like you do and i honestly fingk its amazing that you can. Also meny peaple who go on hiatus dont make an a announcement so if you just made that i whod be happy whith it. I was one of the peaple who were here from the start and i have ben folowing the seris since you do a good job at makeing small clifs at the end of each chapter while getting somfing closed in each too.
Anyway i hope this seris will continue in the future
