"The Gobe... What now?" Robin was confused by what JARVIS meant by this new monument that came out of nowhere.
"Sir, Göbekli Tepe, is a Neolithic archaeological site in Turkey that has been found out quite some time ago and recently proved that this place that was composed of megaliths is more than 9000 years old. Approximately 11000 years. The history of this world is missing more than some random pages. I would suggest that you dig deep into it."
"How do we do that?"
"We can sponsor some teams of archaeologists and send them to places where there might be missing parts of history like Gunung Padang of Indonesia. Even the famous Pyramids of Egypt have some missing pages of proper research that you need to have a look at."
"Then sponsor them. Even in our mythological books there has been indication that an ancient civilization had once flourished. Who knows? Maybe there were great civilizations once on this planet."
"Sure sir. But I think there might be resistance from archaeologists who have believed their research and views from the get go."
"Then get rid of them. I am sure there must be something dirty on them. Uncover them if they try to stop this. It's time for the truth to come to the real world. I am curious what we will find."
"Sir if we go down this path there is a high chance there would be facing resistance not only from archaeologists but from other people who have hidden the real knowledge of the world for a long time."
"You mean to say there are some people who deliberately didn't want to uncover the truth of the world and want the people to be ignorant?"
"That I can't be sure sir, because technology can only go so deep but there is a probability that there is a group of people who are sitting at the top and want things under wraps forever."
"That's a very good conspiracy. Well, sponsor them first and see the reaction. And act accordingly. I will be taking a one month vacation around Europe and I think by the end of this the picture will be more clear."
"Alright sir."
"By the way do you know the people who are sitting at the top? I am sure your invasion of privacy has already given you some results."
"Yes Sir, I have already marked some billionaires and old families that had been controlling many things behind the scenes for more than 30 years. The world wasn't digital before so I can't be exactly sure how old they are and new people always get added or removed from that influential group every time."
"Hmm conspiracy theory after conspiracy theory. I guess something will come out of the hole once we poke it with the stick long enough."
"Yes sir."
JARVIS gave a small rundown of the places the archaeologists would be sponsored to visit in the next few days and Robin got a general idea of how these things might work. JARVIS even proposed the use of LiDAR (light detection and ranging) on Amazon rainforests and Sahara desert.
This was a whole new thing because recently there have been discoveries of pyramids and canals built by ancient civilization in the Bolivian Amazon rainforests. The only reason one never did extensive research was because there was not enough funding. Since Robin was here it was better to fund these kinds of things which would help him know the world better.
It was ironic because Robin wanted to launch the world into a new era, instead he was going for the old era and try to understand how their ancestors lived. This whole procedure and research would take time but he was here for it. He had both the power and money.
While Robin was talking with JARVIS, Myrene sat and listened to the two.
"Myrene, we will go for a vacation."
"Um..hmm."
"What car would you prefer to go along with?"
"Whatever you like."
Myrene was still very shy to show any kinds of emotions but it was natural as it would take time to get accustomed to this world. In fact she would have to learn how to fake her expressions in public too and this would be a long journey for her to learn it.
It was not possible at home. Robin was never the guy from where one could learn emotions. Meeting and interacting with people will be the way and this could only be done when one went through different places.
After much deliberation, Robin decided to go and buy a Porsche Cayenne for their journey. This estate of theirs was big but there was nothing to do here and he was sure he would get bored here if he just stayed here and did nothing other than play video games and read novels.
In the afternoon, both of them left for the Porsche Centrum Amsterdam to buy one. Of course, Robin could just bring one from the game but he would rather have a physical presence in the world. The only way to be invisible to the people is to be as regular as possible.
He needed to be as normal as possible until he could figure everything out. Doing things forcefully would just create more chaos and innocents would be hurt. He wanted to change the world in a way where only the deserving people would get hurt and the innocents be spared.
Of course that was not possible. If today he went and killed Putin, it would definitely bring joy to many people of the world but if he did that there would be innocents, families who had nothing to do with this would be hurt.
Of course it didn't mean that Robin would let go of any of the people responsible for all the bad things that were happening in this world. It was only a matter of time before he got everything in order and then the attack would arrive. He had already made up some plans about it which he would commence soon.
He just wanted to make sure that once the corrupted world order was down, it wasn't like the aftermath of the French Revolution again. People would need a leader and he would have to see if the new leader was capable enough. He didn't want control of the world because that would be exhausting, but he would definitely want leaders that were at least partially true.
Finding a perfect one was impossible so he would have to compromise in many cases. But at least that would be a good start.
While all these future plans were revolving his head he reached the big showroom of Porsche. It was probably the largest showroom that Robin had ever stepped foot into in his life. They went with the Caliburn and parked the car in a parking slot.
"Welcome sir to Porsche. How may I help you?"
A sales assistant almost came running after they parked the car. He had already seen the car from far and from the looks, it already indicated that the client was a loaded one and would definitely buy a car if he could 'perform' well.
"I want to buy a car. More specifically Porsche Cayenne."
"Sure Sir, please follow me."
The sales assistant took them inside and showed them a black and the most high powered version of Cayenne which had been released this year. Robin spent some time feeling it and asked.
"Do you want to check?"
Myrene vaguely nodded her head and got to the back seat and tested the leather. It was totally unnecessary and only did this because she could feel that she needed to interact more as JARVIS and Robin told her to do so.
The buying process didn't take long as money was involved. He paid the whole money upfront and the car was ready to take away. After half an hour Robin came out driving a black Cayenne while Myrene went to Caliburn to drive. She was an android anyways and had piloted mechs before to fly so driving should come easy to him.
Of course JARVIS was there for extra precaution.
After reaching home, Myrene started packing her clothes. They had already bought some essentials that they would be needing while on the tour. This tour was basically a way for Robin to see the world while also knowing more people and seeing new perspectives.
Of course, this journey wasn't all that. He would learn how to fight along the journey while also enhancing himself. He still needed to complete the Skyrim enhancements and while doing so find out new ways to enhance his personal power.
They packed everything by night and they would leave the next day. Robin had already decided that he would take out some camping gear from games and stay for a night or two if he liked a particular place.
"JARVIS, how should we travel?"
I still consider you take Quicksilver from Devil May Cry 3, and if you want doppelganger. The first is activated automatically in a situation in which the user is about to be injured (if it is real in the game scene since some rocks were going to fall on Dante and time slowed down by itself before they touched him)
Steal from pretty much any climbing simulator game. Theres things like the Card survival game. I wonder if you couldn't do something like grabbing items from sandbox survivals like project zomboid, cataclysm dark days ahead and unreal world since they have proper tent kits, lighters and everything in abundance depending on the level of survival you want.
I do wonder what would happen if they chose to play a free idle game or something, and if cards from card games summon their creatures? Really should abuse stat up items from different games though, not just pokemon stat up items but any from major fantasy games, that either boost skills/stats or can upgrade items. Especially games with skill books as a collectable item.
Can't you also completely abuse SCP games and things like lobotomy corporation? If items and all that have some kind of belonging or compulsion to follow orders, theres a long list of things, including inanimate objects that could turn the MC godlike.
If you didn't want to completely destroy the medical industry immediately, the Zero Escape series has a drug, Soporil-Beta which is an anaesthetic which works in both liquid and gas forms and is a gas at room temperature which could get some military contracts for non-lethal ways to raid buildings and diffuse hostage situations. The main side effect in high dosage was memory loss but otherwise has no major downsides. Since it was synthesised from a plant it would also be possible later on to potentially share the chemical and its production with other people.
Rimworld would work for skill trainers and resurrection serums as well as easy psychic powers and with the new dlc the ability control mechanoids, not to mention the ability to morph the genes of people if you had enough power, or just steal vanometric items from the game for unlimited power. Since they have power sources they just generate power and no heat or anything for free, it might be a really simple way to earn money by selling to a national grid.
Personally I'd steal the hoverskates from Haven, since they allow for really fast mobility in uneven terrain. Jetpacks tend to need fuel and can be harder to operate.
Depending on how ballsy the MC is, could possibly steal the wadjet system from AI the somnium files and replace an eye with an AI-ball but Jarvis seems to have a lot of that covered. The ability to read peoples dreams though with the tech in that game would be pretty good.
Horizon zero dawn at the end of the game has the shield weaver armour which recharges for no cost after taking a lot of damage, can survive being crushed by a few tons of metal jumping on you, it will stop the wearer from being staggered by heavy ranged attacks as much as a truck hitting them. It was originally a full exosuit but the game shows you can take it apart and install it on a different armour since the game shows the MC crafting her own armour from it. The focus tech for a sort of HUD by using the brain waves of the person might be a good option if the MC doesn't want to mess with his brain and stuff immediately. Since it is also stand alone, even taking the first focus you find in the game will give you access to pretty much all of its capabilities.
Most of the red faction games have nano tech to some degree too.
I think horizon zero will cover both medical supplies (those berries) and shield technology. Don't know of others
Those berries have promise yeah. I mostly suggested the anaesthetic because of how universal it could be especially with military. People don't tend to have the power to mess with military contracts even if they wanted to so it makes a good backer.
The ability to knock out anyone in a building/cave, clear aggressive mobs and straight up a list of things within seconds makes it a very powerful weapon for harmless defence. It is also less about 'curing' so it won't affect many of the medical industries who have cures for different illnesses like you raised concern for. Potentially has use for complex surgery in the future especially for bionics or other implants.
Healing berries and herbs in Horizon zero are really potent, probably because the gaia project wanted people to live and managed to create those plants as a possible food source but you can't cure everything with a health potion I wouldn't think. There are no injuries in that game like broken bones for the player and when one shows up in the second game during a cave incident the berries aren't a solution to that problem of the person having sprained/broken their leg IIRC, so they have limits to their healing.
If you need any other ideas I can probably find some games related to some topics. But liking the novel so far; keep up the good work.
@JHarp of course I won't go through the route of healing everything because that would be absurd
@akaxkaxyap Shield tech take a look at Border lands (the second game is the best but the 3rd game got a space ship it)
