When he occupied the throne, the monarch was known as Lumis and granted the title "The Gentle." Somehow, like Earth, the Zorians too had some titles too been given to them when they take the throne. Because he didn't have to commit any murders or other acts of carnage to hold the reign, Lumis was granted that title.
Their species has an average lifetime of 500 years in Earth years, and being royalty had advantages. All of the previous Kings had to quell some kind of rebellion or pour water on the last fire of resistance army that had been trying to overthrow the monarchy. When he assumed government, his father had brutally put an end to the last of the tribes and fragmented countries that had resisted. So he was termed as the Gentle when he took the throne after his father voluntarily gave his son the monarchy while sending his daughter to a far away place.
King Lumis's skin was adorned with an elaborate pattern reminiscent of interwoven constellations, radiating a soft, pulsating luminescence. The pattern traced majestic arcs and delicate spirals, symbolizing the rich history and cosmic wisdom passed down 7 generations of rulers. The luminescent hues within the pattern shifted harmoniously, showcasing a range of colors from deep blues and purples to vibrant shades of gold and silver.
At the center of King Lumis's forehead, the pattern culminated in a striking emblem resembling a brilliant starburst. This radiant symbol represented the King's connection to the guiding forces of their civilization and signified their role as a beacon of unity and progress.
The planet Zora, bathed in the soft warmth and dazzling light that permeated via the Dyson Sphere's interconnecting panels, orbited its sun in perfect harmony. Zora's atmosphere was unadulterated and energizing, fostering a tranquil setting where life blossomed.
From the window sill, King Lumis viewed the surroundings. The palace had a commanding view of the expansive meadows below since it was perched on the brow of a lush cliff. As the lush grasses moved in time with the light breeze, captivating patterns that resembled the waves of an emerald sea flowed across the landscape.
The gorgeous mountain ranges rose in the distance, their lofty peaks reaching towards the heavens. The backdrop is already breathtaking, but the snow-capped summits shone in the sunshine, creating an air of majesty. The main hall's natural setting was enhanced by waterfalls that cascaded down mountain slopes. Their crystalline streams produced a calming symphony that blended with the environment.
But despite this magnificent scene, the King wasn't at all content. He didn't admire the scenery's beauty or become weary of it, but rather because of the recent order. The little ring on one of his six fingers reminded him of who he and this star system really belonged to when he stared at it.
His star system was only operating on borrowed time by the technology all around him, the levitating mountains very far away in the distance, and the relative tranquility that had remained consistent in recent years.
"Is there any retribution for us?" King Lumis continued to stare while reflecting.
"How are the humanoid aliens we observe in the nation different from us, Supreme Leader? Do they share our DNA or do we have significant genetic distinctions from them?" A reporter enquired.
"Even though they are aliens in and of themselves, we are genetically identical. If you have any questions regarding that, you can get in touch with the lab's scientists. Since it's a matter of national security, I can't really say why there aren't significant genetic distinctions between us, but the fact remains as such." Since he anticipated this kind of query, Robin responded.
"Then, I'll base my next query on them. In the past three days while traveling the nation, I have encountered both men and women of many racial and ethnic backgrounds. Being so inclusive is a tremendous step forward for diversity in the nation. However, I made a little observation that caught my attention. None of these persons are homosexual couples or transsexual men and women that I have seen. A nation with such a diverse population of ethnicities must also have some gender diversity. Right?" The reporter enquired.
Some of the other journalists groaned in the room because they didn't like the question because some nations had long been opposed to the gender dispute and remained fast to archaic traditional views.
"The North Korean government doesn't have any issues with gay or lesbian persons. The government is aware that as long as people don't impose their views on others, having such relationships is irrelevant and has no bearing on straight people. And speaking of transgender people, who said they had to shout their gender identity to the world? If the person is transgender, they don't have to make it their entire identity; they can just be transgender and go about their business as usual. Although a transgender person is free to use their preferred pronouns, you wouldn't assume that others will do the same. Do you?"
"In this country, a man can dress like a woman, and vice versa, and no one would make fun of them or harass them for it. However, if you think that a man with a penis could use a woman's restroom or go through the female area of airport security, you are gravely erroneous I could go on and on about this, but this nation will not support right-wing beliefs like white supremacy, xenophobia, or racism, nor will it tolerate dumb leftist ideologies. This country will always hold its centrist ideologies now and forever. Don't expect special treatment simply because someone is unique. There will be equal treatment of laws on everyone, just don't expect equal results from all people."
"But don't you think this will promote hatred towards the marginalized community of LGBT and will be mistreated among the society?" Using the final opportunity, the journalist continued to bring up the subject and questioned Robin about it.
"Yes, it is accurate. I can't say the same for North Korea because it doesn't have any laws that are particularly strict regarding the LGBT community or any particular races, but generally speaking, humanity has a strong sense of tribalism and naturally alienates those who don't fit their tribe's customs, appearance, or culture. If you believe that the hardships of an LGBT person in a highly conservative society are any different from those of a Middle Eastern person in a fully European civilization or a Korean person in a Middle Eastern society, then I am sorry to say but you haven't seen the world. The sole distinction is that some nations are just better educated than others, as opposed to those who lived their entire lives in ignorance". Robin kept on responding.
"And for this reason our society has free education and this education isn't only about bookish study but actual practical implications. You should have asked more about education instead of crying victim for every marginalised sections of humanity, because that will remain forever and no one section of people will have a superiority over the other, and the tug of war will continue. The long-term success of a species can only be measured by the level of knowledge and education they have attained about the universe, not by elevating things that never earned it in the first place." The journalist was unaware of how to respond to the question or that she had the opportunity to do so. And even if she had, she wouldn't have been able to since the society she was witnessing in North Korea was more inclusive than any other society she had ever seen, and although she intended to pick on the LGBT issue, it appeared like she had poked the wrong goose and embarrassed herself.
While Robin responded, more questions were asked. In his responses, Robin made a number of interesting surprises. The fact that he 'had talked' with the world leaders about putting the pedophiles and rapists on death rows. Since many nations did not have the tradition of sending people to death row regardless of their offense, this came as a tremendous shock to everyone.
Robin was adamant that pedophiles and rapists will soon face the 'hanging' laws. Additionally, he advised people to consider population collapse, which had emerged as a huge issue for humanity, particularly at this time when several European countries were experiencing extremely low birth rates. Even though certain Asian nations didn't experience this issue, the globe as a whole will soon suffer when the space age begins since a nation with an extremely low birth rate would eventually vanish off the face of the Earth if they didn't create more children.
Land and resource shortages would soon become nonexistent, thus people must consider the long term rather than making bargains that will only satisfy their immediate wants. In order to reduce the number of divorces and create laws that favor marriage and childbirth, countries like Europe, the United States, Japan, and others needed to reevaluate their methods. Of course, being married wasn't a prerequisite for starting a family, but Robin mentioned that a healthy family made for a healthy child.
Welp, you're sounding awfully transphobic.
Nope I m not. I m just pointing out the problems of the society from both sides. I did mention racism and said that the government will be centrist always. Didn't I?
@akaxkaxyap This topic is sensitive and, moreover, quite old. It's true that you can believe in whatever you want regarding your identity, but in the end, if you were to pass away in a forest and your body is unrecognizable, DNA testing would be the one to determine your gender.
@akaxkaxyap So I'm going to assume good faith here. The character specifically says a couple things which are transphobic.
Although a transgender person is free to use their preferred pronouns, you wouldn't assume that others will do the same. Do you?"
"In this country, a man can dress like a woman, and vice versa, and no one would make fun of them or harass them for it. However, if you think that a man with a penis could use a woman's restroom or go through the female area of airport security, you are gravely erroneous
Should a person expect to be referred to by their proper pronouns? Yes. Being trans doesn't mean some guy decided they like dressing up like a woman, they are a woman. If someone misgenders you, for instance, if they saw you from behind and didn't get a good look, you would expect them to correct themselves once they find out the truth. It is simple common courtesy to refer to someone how they prefer to be referred to once you know. It is the same sort of thing with names. If someone goes and gets their name legally changed to Rose, it doesn't matter if their name used to be Jenny or Jeremy, Rose is their name now.
As for the whole "man with a penis in the women's room"? First off, if you are referring to a trans woman, they're not a man and if they've had surgery, might not even have a penis anymore. Them being forced to use the wrong room is simply a way for them to be harassed. The number of times a trans person using the wrong bathroom has resulted in their own harassment as compared to the number of times they have harassed others while in the correct room is so sickeningly skewed towards them being harassed it isn't funny.
The fact this is a political thing is simply one side having lost the battle over things like gay marriage and so they've moved to an even more vulnerable group. People didn't even mention those who were trans. It was all about how gay men were harassing other men in the bathroom (another event that is rare to the point of non-existence). It isn't like either are trying to force their "beliefs" on you. They want to live their lives and recieve the same courtesy that everyone else does. They want to love people they love. They want to be called by their preferred name and pronouns, exactly like everyone else. And they want to be able to receive health care appropriate for their conditions.
You're writing a scifi/fantasy story and yet your restricting things on this front. The game spawned people all being cis? Easily enough something you can handwave away by blaming it on the games you source them from. However, they have the technology. A trans man should be able to get not only surgery, but a complete genetic switcheroo so that their body and genetics match who they are. Saying stuff like "A man with a penis" is already horribly inaccurate for many trans woman right now, let alone with the tech your MC can pull out. Hell, I'm sure there is at least one game where character creation is being done by a something to people in the game that your MC can pull out.
@Diudisma And that is a common transphobic dog whistle showing you are commenting in bad faith. Besides, if they find a dead body in the forest, they're going to do so many other things before they even consider a DNA test, starting with checking for any identification, such as a driver's license. Don't matter what DNA says if their ID says "John Doe, Male" and the photo matches.
@Akhier okay about the pronoun thing. If a person thinks a person is a man or woman he will call him he it her a she. If the person will willing to correct that is well and good but if not you can't force him or her to do so. That is the sad reality of life and that doesn't just lay on Trans people. I m saying this for straight man too. Its bullying that is the way it is.
And the medical part, yes that can be done but I haven't mentioned it yet so later I might where a person could change their sex.
I have mentioned about the man with the penis. With that I m referring to a trans woman entering a women sports. And yes no matter what u say I m not going to support that.. Trans woman can have their own category if they want it
@akaxkaxyap Except many sports already have a method of division that doesn't have to be based on gender? You base it on the physical qualities that actually make a difference like weight, height, or the levels of certain hormones. Besides, the Olympics already allows trans athletes.
Oh, and thanks for confirming that you were referring to a woman as a man. If you don't want to be seen as transphobic, stop that. Yes, not knowing is an excuse, except since it is a hypothetical expressly meant to single out a trans women, you do know and are choosing to not refer to them correctly. If you want to refer to them separately from cis women, that is when you call them a trans woman instead of just saying they are a woman.
@Akhier You are free to believe in what you want to be, nobody here will deny you that right.
Furthermore, I wrote the comment about one of the many issues that transgender individuals face. Not to mention the hormonal imbalance, although there are several treatments, they are not accessible to everyone. Ultimately, gender transition is only available to those who can afford it.
If English is not readable, I apologize, it is not my native language.
@Akhier transphobic means i am afraid of them. No i am not afraid of them. As i said they can do whatever they want and I don't really care. Trans thing is more of a thing of western society. Here it's not looked in a very good way.
About the athletes thing, i meant it by that swimmer which has recently made a lot of news. Men are supposed to superior when it comes to body build. That is science. Psychologically they can do whatever they want.
@akaxkaxyap Transphobic doesn't just mean being afraid of trans people. Transphobia can include fear, aversion, hatred, violence or anger towards those who are trans. It is similar to being racist, not having a phobia. It is transphobic to purposefully misgender a trans person, especially if you didn't intend to be transphobic because it represents a word choice that is harmful to those who are trans without realizing the harm it causes. "I'm not X, but" is simply a mental construct being used to distance yourself from the situation. "I'm not transphobic, but it isn't transphobic to misgender a trans person because I'm not afraid of them." Ignorance of it simply means you have a chance to grow beyond it, instead of being just another person who is knowingly a bigot.
As for the physical differences? Well of course first of all, those on hormone replacement will go through large physical changes which for trans women includes a loss of strength and muscle mass. However, that doesn't even matter for a trans woman who had proper healthcare from before puberty. With puberty blockers, they don't go through the testosterone powered muscles growth that comes with puberty. Also, of note, everyone is always talking about tran women competing against cis woman. Hardly anyone ever talks about trans men competing with cis men.
@Diudisma No, you specifically and only used the "A genetic test would reveal their birth gender" argument. This is not a problem for them. Now, I guess I might have been quick assuming the worst of you. However, you were repeating a very common bit of misdirection used by bigots to deny them. You know what else a genetic test can reveal? That someone born one gender is actually some form of intersex, a condition that up to 1.7% of the population has. There can be a person who was a lady from birth that is revealed to actually be genetically male, there is even an episode of the House TV show that features it.
@Akhier Nobody denies anything. We are all free to think. Changing gender is more than just undergoing surgery, it is changing your lifestyle. There is a series where a character is transgender and addresses the problem of being denied hormone treatment.
the series is called Orange is the new black
warning: the series has content +18 and violent
@akaxkaxyap Don't mind them, you literally just proved their point through the comments. You stated facts and they called you homophobic...
You literally said you wanted an inclusive society but it's still not enough. Gender should be something personal, why would you show it to everyone?
They even called you transphopic because you said you wouldn't let a man with a p3nis in a woman's restroom... That's not homophobia, it's literally protecting women. If they have already been operated, then they are not "men with a p3nis"
