Transmigrated into the trash novel 'Crimson Rain on Wisteria Captivates the World' and became an eggplant. Although he is very determined about some things, he has the tendency to be introverted and lack self-confidence. He often gets distracted on random tangents like 'how often do koalas climb down trees'.
Qin Yan is accepting towards his new identity as an 'eggplant', but places value on his name as the remaining part of his identity from when he was human. He still isn't sure what he's supposed to do in this new world, and maybe he'll find out.
The dazzling protagonist of Crimson Rain on Wisteria Captivates the World. He may have started in a bad place, but he climbed his way up with quiet calculations and cold diligence, originally becoming a stallion protagonist with a diverse harem. He trusts next to no one. It is uncertain if he will be a different person once Qin Yan transmigrates into the story line.
A sadistic system that left Qin Yan in the dark for two weeks, taunted him openly, told him to collect points, and then ditched him.
A beautiful woman Qin Yan found in an ice coffin in a hidden area of Wangzi's residence who can communicate via float-y orbs of light. She seems to have died unpleasantly.
The sadistic member of Song Heqing's harem in the previous version of the story. She is extremely pragmatic and ambitious, and cannot stand to be under anyone else's command.
A powerful demonic lord, several hundred years old with a Demonic Sect that spans miles. He has been wicked and cruel in ways others cannot even fathom. Rumors say that his mental state has been deteriorating recently.
There are many nameless mob characters that meet a horrid end, and their suffering shall not be forgotten.
Firebirds are the one colorful thing plentiful at Phoenix Demonic Sect. Unlike what one would suspect, they are not genetically related to phoenixes at all, but the flame bowerbird (below). Similar to the bowerbird, firebirds prefer warm climates and have elaborate courtship displays to attract a mate. Firebirds are a much larger species, however, the size of a small airplane. One can recognize the species by the distinctive 'cackle' they frequently give while circling in the air.
Bowerbird attracts mate with a blue berry.
Su Zemin is Moonstone Peak Lord within Eagle Sect. He is Song Heqing's master, with a total of nine disciples. He is a weapon forging expert and in charge of mystical artifact storage and trade at Eagle sect. Although he's a jack-of-all-trades in knowledge, his finicky personality can make him hard to deal with.
A bubbly disciple of Moonstone Peak, loved by many. Despite her pretty face she is ruthless in speech and enjoys breaking the bones of any opponent she challenges to a duel. She is hopelessly head-over-heels for Dauntless Peak Lord, Sun Daiyu.
The Grandmaster of Eagle Sect. He is an earth Qi user. He is typically level-headed and diplomatic, but leans on the cautious side when it comes to taking action. Most agree that his martial arts are inferior to Lord Sun's, who supervises Dauntless Peak.
Supervises Dauntless Peak within Eagle Sect. She is a metal Qi user, and her martial arts with the use of her blade Dawn Chime are the epitome of brilliant elegance. For her involvement in defending a city from a demon, she has renown across the continent as a Taoist Master. She has also implemented reforms in the three provinces that lie under the territory of Eagle Sect, which includes disaster relief measures, lowering the poverty rates, and creating strict guidelines in the prostitution sectors that increase sex worker's standards of living and rights. She is fully aware of Bai Lian's infatuation with her, and seems to tolerate it.
First disciple of Su Zemin at Moonstone Peak. He speaks in double meanings and barbed words, and fights with a set of five knives that uses manipulates through the air with his Qi. He's gone through many lovers over the years. Who knows if it's a flaw in his personality or if he prefers to play around.
A Dauntless Peak disciple who was defeated by Song Heqing in a duel, then tried to get back at Qin Yan when he was alone. Overall, his personality seems a bit too petty for a disciple of Dauntless Peak. Perhaps he relied on nepotism to get in.
Lives down the mountain from Eagle Sect. Unlike what one would expect, it is carnivorous and eats the bellies of other creatures as its main food source. It is the primary ruling beast of Eagle Mountain and its brown fur provides helpful camouflage while hunting.
Ancient deer that rules over the fog covered Fulao Mountain. Wanted to eat Qin Yan, but realized eggplant's true identity and eventually was forced to surrender.
Song Heqing's OP protagonist sword. Its powers are mysterious, but he does know it was passed down through his family as an heirloom.
Bai Lian's blade. As the name suggests, it is a thin, small butterfly knife, and is notably good at cutting cabbage.
An ancient demonic cultivator created this magic tool from the dried body of a former demon. Its soul was imprisoned inside a lamp surface that was made by its own skin, and thus its powers utilized. As the name suggests, one-thousand eyes are packed onto the surface of the lamp like shriveled pustules, and expand when the lamp is activated, capable of killing thousands of opponents upon mere eye-contact.
The demonic repelling jade that Song Heqing personally made for Qin Yan. It was supposed to look like a flower, but appearance aside, can suppress the power of demons that touch the blade or are in its close vicinity. It is a high-grade magic tool, other cultivators would pay heaps of treasure to buy it.
A section of Eagle Sect, supervised by Peak Lord Su Zemin. Forging and creation of magic tools takes place here. It has the smallest number of disciples, but is highly valued because of the necessity of the tools made there, which have practical use and can generate revenue. Su Zemin also instructs martial arts.
Located in the southwest of the continent, its territory spans an entire two provinces. The sect leader is Wangzi Zhu, a notorious demonic cultivator.
This is the peak within Eagle Sect supervised by Sun Daiyu, a renowned cultivator. Her martial skills are regarded as the best at Eagle Sect, and those under her peak generally practice a techniques that emphasizes 'quantity over quality', with elegance, patience, and persistence as key.
You want quality BL novel? You got it right here. Normally, I avoid original fiction due to the writing style or finding the plot boring. This is one of the rare cases where I dropped the Chinese novel I'm currently reading in order to marathon-read this one.
The writing style is smooth and engaging. It's easy to follow along and it's rather humorous. There's an excellent balance of narration and dialogue. Honestly, I've got no complaints here at all.
The MC is interesting and intriguing. Personally, he's my favorite type of protagonist - the morally ambiguous one. Well, he's an eggplant, so we can't judge him by human standards.
The romance isn't here yet, so I can't comment yet. Surprisingly, I'm not in a hurry for it, because the story line is already entertaining enough and I just want to keep on reading. I might have to stockpile chapters...

At this point, there's not a whole lot to review but I'm leaving this here to encourage people to give it a try :D
This has an interesting setting: I guess I can say without spoilering that although Qin Yan transmigrates and there's a system, it's done in a way I haven't seen before. I'm definitely looking forward to how this'll turn out.
I like both leads as well as their interactions. Haha writing this kinda makes me wanna reread it xD
It's interesting, cute, amusing and reads well. If you're deliberating whether or not to start this, why not let this review be the deciding nudge that makes you tap the "read" button :)

Quite an interesting concept and good execution.
Even better English, both in terms of grammar and vocabulary.
Overall, it's a story with quite a few twists, which I like. There seems to be an ongoing mystery, which hopefully will be resolved in the end.
Also, its technically not Shounen AI, as the main couple get together roughly in the middle of the book. I'm also being told that there will be some mature content! Or so I'm hoping.

I thought I wrote a review for this novel, but I guess I didn't, so here it is!
This novel is a PERFECT balance of seriousness and comedy. I'm not sure if the author was going for that balance, but it's something that completely suits my taste.
What can I say? The grammar and writing is immaculate, the characters are all interesting and are integral to the plot. And oh boy, THE PLOT. Golden and beautiful! The mystery is something that has not been yet expanded upon, yet the author gives slight hints and clues, leaving the reader guessing. I just love those kinds of mysteries, the ones where its not completely focused on the mystery yet always lingering on the back of my mind.

Absolutely Wonderful! Very well thought out and coherent plot. The set-up in the arcs that divide the atmosphere and structure are very neatly formulaic. Details aren't left as plot-holes, and are expanded on as the story continues.
Main characters are deep with emotional development throughout the story. Side characters are interesting as well, with enough depth to be a story of their own. And the love story is very sweet and rewarding to read.
If you're interested in an involved plot with a strong building romantic relationship thrown in alongside, this is perfect. And the dynamic with Qin Yan's identity interacting with people and the world is very enjoyable to intriguing while reading.
