[F/F Dark Romance, Dark Fantasy, Cosmic Horror]
When Ari—once known as the Dreadsaint Batira, the Prophet's Shepherd—is killed by her own wife and strung up from the city gates as a message to her old master, her hopes shattered and her greatest dreams unfulfilled, she's sort of... expecting that to be it. You know: sorry about the sad ending, better luck in your next reincarnation!
But two years later, she finds herself resurrected. Her treacherous wife is dead, the master she once adored is now a tyrannical god-queen, and the entire world is about to be swept into a calamity far larger than the petty war she died in. Cool! Great! The best she can do is keep her head down and take up a role as a preceptor at a remote witch's coven while she figures out what the hell happened while she was in the void and what the hell she's supposed to do now.
Unfortunately, God-Queen Velnyr Napharos has different plans. When Ari's fearsome former master discovers her disciple is back among the living, she doesn't intend to let her get away again… no matter what it takes.

Very promising story, especially good in terms of world building. The setting feels very original and well put together and the authors effort comes through clearly with the amount of original fantasy language. The relationship between the two female leads is still in its infancy - they've only just met again in the last couple of chapters - but the long history and kind of toxic dynamic they have is compelling. The author is good at leaving things unsaid so there's still mystery and intrigue to be unwrapped.
In terms of criticism, the prologue is a bit of a word dump and honestly I'll admit to skipping half of it. It wasn't written badly, but I don't think it does a particularly good job as a hook. Would definitely say it's skippable if you feel it's dragging.
Overall would highly recommend this work to anyone looking for GL or just an interesting western fantasy world that feels highly original.
