In the dying moments of their universe, a team of researchers launched the artificial lifeform Seraphina into the interplanar void, hoping to spare other universes their fate.
Eighteen years later, as most of Earth is coming to grips with the calamitous arrival of a mysterious System, a young woman begins having vague impressions of her life in that now-dead universe. The reborn Seraphina doesn't remember much, but one thought keeps forcing itself to the forefront of her mind: the System is sapient and purposeful.
Unfortunately, she has no idea what the System wants.
Now she's in a race against time. Granted new powers as [Planetouched Mechanist] by the System itself, Seraphina needs to learn how to blend magic and technology, awaken her sealed memories, and above all else, figure out the System's purpose.
If only she could be sure that her meddling will save her new home and not doom it.
Volumes 1-3 complete. Updates M/T/Th/F at 6:05 AM CDT.

What to expect:
Project Seraphina will gradually shift from an urban fantasy setting to a sci-fi one over the course of the story.
Two best friends (and maybe more) taking on the System-Integrated World! [Note: There will be sapphic/girls love/yuri romance beginning in volume 2. There will be a tiny amount of optional R-18 content, as in 1-2 chapters per volume, which can be skipped.]

I like it.
It's hard to find stories with the parameters that I prefer, harder still to find ones that I really like, harder further than that to find ones that can keep me occupied for days at a time.
So, to start with the gripes, the writing is a little flat, and sometimes some scenes feel a bit unengaging to me. I do conk out on the technical stuff. Might be more of a "me problem" rather than a "story problem" as we all have our preferences.
Another is some pay off's aren't well delivered. A lot of steam for little result, which can be quite disappointing.
Something I am unsure if I am turned on or off by is the frequency of the status sheets.
On one hand, they can clog up chapters a bit with just how many of them there are. On the other hand, hehehe dopamine. So not entirely sure if it's worth a critique or not. I'll lean towards "not" for now.
For the good, there is a lot!
The writing is very consistent and easy to read for the most part. I saw few errors when I was reading and the format was very much easy to follow.
The world building is PEAK. It's honestly hard to pick what to speak about first.
The LitRPG thing, it's consequences on the wider world as well as the societal changes all come across as, well realistic isn't the right word, but immersive. Virtually every societal change feels very believable with the implications of an RPG system coming to earth. It's well fleshed out and fantastically done.
The characters are all excellent too. They all feel like believable people, with their own goals, wants and needs. There are so many distinct people that I actually remember when brought up as they really are just that unique.
I like the main character, though the second lead did take a bit of time to warm up to. This isn't to say the second lead was done poorly, just that she needed to grow before I could come to respect her. I love following these two on their adventures and watching them both grow together.
The story itself, while I have mentioned issues with pay-off's, is still fantastic. There are many things set up that make for a compelling story to follow, making me deeply curious for what happens next. While at times it could be a bit slow, or maybe times when it focuses on things I am not interested in, I might conk out a bit, but its over all a fantastic reading experience.
This story is well written, with fleshed out characters and worldbuilding, I can't really recommend this enough. It respect the readers time.
So yeah, read this. Story good.

Project Seraphina has my favorite LitRPG system out of any story I've read. Skill advancement is slow and steady with occasional spikes when a character learns new skills. Rules text isn't exhausting. It's not fancy, but it's solid, which is a good description of the story as a whole.
The prose is probably the story's weakest point, being only good, not great. The story is direct and simple, and always gets to the point. This directness does mean many descriptions are more workmanlike than evocative, but I prefer that to the other way around. Dialogue is a weak point. It's not bad, but there are large chunks of uninterrupted speech that can get a little boring, and occasionally make it hard to keep track of who is speaking.
Characters are well written. The main character and love interest get the lion's share of the focus, which is nice. The two are interesting to read, and grow and change in compelling and believable ways. There's a large rotating cast of secondary characters that are managed very well. None of them stick around too much to become annoying, and are spared just as much detail as they need.
The plot's also really well done. It's well paced, and has a nice mixture of action, intrigue, character moments, and downtime. Tension and stakes are also handled very well. It never feels easy for the main character, but it also never feels hopeless or overwhelming. There are occasional flashbacks which are my least favorite part. They're well placed and never get in the way, but they fail to engage me for reasons I can't quite articulate. Due to the way the author writes, Project Seraphina avoids all the common pitfalls that usually plague web serials, which is great.
All in all, definitely worth a read. There are a few issues that keep it from being perfect, but that's life. It's a huge mark in Project Seraphina's favor that I struggled to find new ways to say "it's very good" because I had to say it so much.

Sera seeing the obvious trap and deciding to trap the trap was really fun. The fight was satisfying, but the tension with Hank afterward made the scene land even better.
