Years ago, Earth was indoctrinated into the "System."
Earth was not the only place with the System, however. With the System came the other races, Invaders. The Invaders had one goal, to obtain ownership of this new habitable planet. This created a bloodbath, and for years the war raged.
This didn't really have much to do with Derek. Derek was kind of a loner. Yeah, he enjoyed the occasional chat or drink with others, but he never stayed in one place too long or really got to know anybody new.
Derek did happen to be rather strong. After the years of fighting monster and Invaders alone, he had become quite adept at surviving. One thing that helped keep him alive was his refusal to get involved with others. He rarely cooperated with teams.
One day, Derek broke his rules and decided to lend some help, as the mission didn't seem too hard. He should have stuck to being alone.

Hey everyone, this is my fiction, "System Change." It's the first time I've really tried to write a serial. All feedback is really appreciated.
After thinking long and hard about it, I decided to also post my story here on Scribblehub! I will be posting around 2-3 a day, every weekday, until I am caught up with the progress on the other platform. After that, you can expect to see 2 chapters a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
I try to keep the word count between 1500-2500, there have been a couple times I have went over. The average word count per chapter is 1850 or so.
I really hope you all enjoy the story. I am still in the process of editing the first dozen or so chapters, as my writing has changed (for the better) since I started writing.

This is an enjoyable read with a clever (at least early on) MC who is mostly logical and decisive. It suffers from a seeming lack of focus and direction. Definitely a decent read for anyone who enjoys system novels and might turn into a really good one after another couple hundred chapters, though it might not.
I enjoyed until around approximately chapter 90. After that it changed almost entirely into a slice-of-life with an almost mind-numbingly slow pace. The MC was also largely changed from a mildly cold and logical person to getting retconned to a compassionate and semi-heroic character who
has actually been feeling guilty for the entire novel even though none of his actions or thoughts showed this, and his reasoning was entirely sound
I think my issue with the novel is mostly that the novel changes it's, and the MC's, direction of adventure and survival to slice-of-life and taking care of/overseeing many side characters. It makes some sense, but doesn't work for readers that came in expecting adventure: especially when that first 50 chapters lean strongly towards it. That doesn't look to be changing anytime soon, so if you choose to read, then do so expecting at least 90% slice-of-life with maybe 5% fighting and 5% adventure.
That said, if you enjoy SoL genre, then you likely won't be disappointed in most characters and their interactions with the MC. Though they aren't too fleshed out, at least yet. I'd advise the author to stop adding characters before the current ones get fleshed out more.

Intensely generic litrpg.
Overwhelmingly powerful MC who has more insight into the system than anyone else who does as he pleases.
It's not badly written mechanically.

It's written well, if you don't mind the usual massively OP protagonist. He has his good points; he's generally helpful, considerate, and practical. He doesn't make any oppressively stupid mistakes, and the pace is quite constant. That being said, he's massively OP from the get go, so don't expect anything involving much personal struggle. The world itself isn't terribly fleshed out either.
What bugs me the most though? We're told from something like the first or second chapter, this man is a loner. Someone who avoids interfering with people at all costs, to the point where he's actually awarded titles for refusing the call. However, from the time he steps into the story proper, he's.. Not this man at all. There's no real reason for this: he simply decides to be helpful and contributes greatly to the welfare of a small group of people.
Now don't get me wrong; I don't mind good characters. I prefer it to the alternative. But there's no good reason why he's changed so radically. There's no personal revelation. It just happens.

Generic litrpg, I love it, especially with an overpowered protagonist.

Review as of chapter 190: Starts out neat and with adequate progression, then stalls out atrociously, to the point where by chapter 150 even simple actions can take up several chapters. Fluff for a million pillows. The writing style and grammar are good all throughout, that's why the amount of stars.

System Change is a very interesting story which I wholeheartedly recommend.
What I like about it most are the scenes where Derek is interacting with the more powerful natives, beating expectations, doing bizarre things with his class and generally having fun. Thankfully this is the majority of chapters.
What I find less successful are too many chapters with Derek being extremely patient training up his followers (the kids or the adults) and groups of chapters like the golem dungeon where we got a bunch of chapters without any interaction with others. (I understand why since they were about him gaining 70 levels, but the story lost out from doing so).
As a final point: Silvi is a really interesting character, but her appeal is when she is actively doing things with Derek. Making her too much of a cook side character would be a shame when she can be so much more and fully active. For example if she'd been there in the golem dungeon to help Derek it would have made the entire group of chapters much more fun.
