If you're looking at the ratings to try and figure out if this is worth your time then please give this story a chance.

It's really fun, the protagonist Lei Yirui gets isekaied into the world of a drama as the annoying younger sister of the secondary male lead and promptly latches onto Jia Zhenzhen the "main character" of the drama she's found herself in because the character she's embodying now is otherwise going to die.

And by god, Lei Yirui is just so genuinely fun to read about, the only thing she wants is to survive the story but in doing so she really does just f**k around so hard that the "original plot" goes completely sideways, and the original character dynamics flip flop on their heads as well. Though of course as anyone reincarnated into a story, Lei Yirui is at times still just a little too married to the idea of the original plot to notice exactly the effect she's been having on other people until it becomes just fully undeniable haha.

But this wouldn't be complete without talking about everyone else, the two main characters are amazing and really fun but the others are too, there is not a single character that I dislike seeing because every last one of them adds a fun little dynamic that makes it so that even when they're being assholes to Lei Yirui or Jia Zhenzhen you still have a fun time reading about how they interact with the two main characters and in Lei Yirui's case how she dunks on them like no tomorrow.

All in all this has just genuinely been a story that I picked up and couldn't put down until I had read all the chapters that were available at the time. This is a story that you want to read more of and it delivers with every new update.

This is really really good writing!

It's really hard to find a historical based lesbian romance that isn't just the same tropes of a straight romance reformatted, But this novel not only managed it but surpassed every expectation! Every single character in this novel has individual personality and charm, and their interactions with one another are both humourous and realistic.

There's also none of that woman hating woman bullsh*t that you find everywhere in period romances. Our protagonist has female friends who aren't set up to be love interests, and actually spends a decent amount of time with them! She's a lesbian with actual female friends and interests outside her romance! Such a low bar but almost impossible to cross in a period romance!

I also really like that this romance didn't pull the horrible 'not like other girls' trope- Lei Yirui is nothing particularly special, she's awkward and a little self obsessed, like most people. 90% of her reason for doing anything in this novel is either hunger or boredom, something I can really get behind.

Personally, I also really like that our protagonist is fem! Fem with terrible habits, likes to dress up but also can't be bothered to, and gives up at the bare sign of effort involved- you've basically described all the fem lesbians I know to a T.

All in all I would highly recommend this, it's well written, funny, has fantastic characterisation and was an absolute pleasure to read.
