Synopsis

One bad day is all it takes to send an average man to the fringes of madness, or so a wise, demented clown once said.

But if one bad day that started with getting fired and ended with a meteor falling over one such average man's head didn't drive him insane, then maybe waking up in a fictional world full of monsters would do the trick?

...

Are you sick of the usual power-wank, wish-fulfillment stories? Are you tired of one-dimensional fanfiction protagonists? Have you had your fill of monotonous monologues and forced dialogues?

Do you want to see steady, slow character development and power level growth?

If you answered yes to all those questions, then congratulations! This is the story for you!

Story starting is good but MC alot of bad choices. This novel feels like the webnovel 'Super Detective in the Fictional World' which I also like but Super Detective too slow in leveling with nothing important happening, feels like filler. This DC novel, leveling is quite fast which I like.

Story gets worst later with a stupid tournament. Also the MC and some other character makes stupid jokes which doesn't fit their character.

      CONS:

MC complains about Batman not killing villains, MC also don't kill. MC complains about other heroes behavior while he behaves the same.

MC don't use guns because his stupid martial arts teacher says so or cause he doesn't kill. He should use whatever he can.

He starts using guns in later chapters but guns that don't kill, wtf is this nonsense.

So the novel is very well put together. It does good in how it portrays previously made characters (the ones made in DC like Batman, Harley Quinn, Superman, etc...). The only criticism I have is that the progression was a little fast for my tastes, but considering the dangers in Gotham city alone, the city ghat has a “normal” human protecting it, I understand why the MC has the progression speed he does.

Over all, I highly recommend reading this one.

So, this is my first review... Ever. I'm writing this review to help get this story more exposure. I'm not sure if my review will help, but I wanted to try. It's not a perfect story, because perfection is a matter of perspective but... it IS a "Good Story".

This story is a DC universe isekai, with a System. A random guy dies, and then without warning, finds himself in the body of a recently dead young man... in Gotham City. Bloody, broken and bleary eyed in a pile of garbage, as a low level nobody, he gets his System. It fixes up his hurts, and gives him his first task: Find Shelter. Covered in filth, with nothing to his name but a System and the tattered, horrible smelling clothes on his back... in Gotham. This is his Story. The only place left to go is Up, right? Or... death. Death is an option. After all, it is a world with superpowers, and he's found himself a little underpowered at the moment.

I've enjoyed the story so far. The System he gets seems basic, in that it doesn't appear to have an A.I. companion. So, there's no conversations with it. Like almost all Systems though, it Does 'break reality'. It grants Power for completing tasks, and gives him the ability to Grow. He can level up, and learn new things. As he interacts with the world around him, he tries to survive in a place where the the next apocalypse could be right around the corner. He's just trying to survive when, at first, almost any crazy person with a knife could kill him. Things get better, and he does grow stronger, but that potential apocalypse looms over him. Any super-powered individual could be a threat to his survival. He's going to have to work hard, and keep improving if he wants to remain alive.

Also, the transition to this new reality may have left him a little unhinged? He's not 'Mad', or a psychotic killer... but he does have emotional baggage. Basically, as far as I know, I've never died before, and then woken up in a place that seemed very nearly impossible. He obviously questions his new reality, and while cautious, still throws around a lot of emotional angst. It's probably really hard to survive in a new place where the laws of reality are flexible. He IS trying though, and I'm happy enough with that.

I will add, that while he does have emotional issues, he's not insane. A bit crazy perhaps, but he hasn't crossed the line into psychotic babbling. This 'background' emotional baggage, tends to color his interactions with the people around him, and causes him to act in a somewhat 'me first' manner. It's understandable, as his situation is a bit unsafe, and difficult for him. Like I said earlier, he's trying, and that's enough for me.

As for the writing itself? It was easy for me to understand and comprehend. The language used is simple enough, and the grammar's fine. I didn't have any issues with the dialogue flow, or trouble with understanding the perspective. It felt like a straightforward style, and was relatively concise. Though, please understand, I'm not a professional, and may have missed something. For me? The writing itself was OK.

Anyways, I hope this review brings more exposure to this Story. I've enjoyed it so far, and I hope that any future readers do too.

      Thanks for Sharing!

Edit/Update: The Author has stopped posting this Story on this website... which is absolutely a demerit if you want to continue reading, but now have to read it elsewhere. So, there's more Story, but not at this 'site. Good to know, yeah? I'll probably keep reading this elsewhere, but I won't be able to enjoy it as much... which is unfortunate. Eh, Thanks for your Time!

Great story. I was binge reading it until I came across the final chapter. I got a little sad, but I went to go check the websites and stuff. Low and behold, there's more chapters available! I just wanted to give review before I go read over there. Thanks for your work and effort!

      An enjoyable story.

The characters are done well, which is something a lot of fanfictions struggle with, and the writing is fluid and engaging.

It sidesteps the most common pitfalls that stories of this kind generally a free and the protagonist does not feel like a tool of wish fulfilment.

Overall, it is an above average DC fanfic experience.

5/5 Reading complete. (About 150-250 chapters)

Excellent work, I read it to the end as quickly as I could. The full version is available on Webnovel for free (Yes, I know, I was surprised by such a miracle, a good work and without blocking, I haven’t seen this for a long time.)

The protagonist is a man with a mission, he decided that he would make this world a better place, and moved towards the execution of his plan regardless of conventions, starting with pragmatic survival in the worst area of Gotham. Of course, not without some distractions and mistakes, but the general direction never changed.

The author really looked at what was happening with a rare look in fan fiction. To be honest, the protagonist's method of achieving the goal is one of the most reasonable, although it ultimately does not completely solve the problem, but the changes are definitely positive.

the novel is finished, you would be able to look for the other websites via searching the name.

      .

overall the novel was not satisfactory, if you break it down into 3 parts, beginning, middle (active point of power/enough strength) and end.

      .

begining was well built, the powers had decent scaling, plots had good fight scenes, some forced emotional stress, below average relationships (too few build up chapters to be emotionally invested), overall one of the better opennings.

middle portion, well there was no middle portion, when he achieved a decent amount of strength, the plot got rushed via 3 short arcs. Some of these arcs were even in the first major plot point, it could have been better if he just elaborated on the main plot rather than the diversion. Relationships built was basically scrapped

      .

end, well this was 1 short arc, too rushed, power level scaled to much, fights were non existent, conclusion was filled with a child like idealism, relationships were just non existent, something akin to naruto and jiraya war ending viewpoint.

      .

well I expected more from the great start, sadly it failed to deliver. Would I recommend for you to read it? If you have started, well might as well, if not then no, it just leaves a bitter taste at the end.

if you have started and if you are at the right point you could end it after the waller arc (barbara was recruited in 1 chapter, just imagine she accepted the offer to do better than a viginate, or was inspired by the mc) and read chapter 312 till before "the diamond district", just think that the MC ended up with barbara or ivy behind the scenes, with these you could make an open ending of sorts and lets say the future of dc would be for the stars to decide, but while it is still in the realms of man it would follow my guide.
