• The Will of Gil is a very interesting novel. A shy 16 year old nerd gets transmigrated into the body of Gilderoy Lockhart in the prime of his life. Rather than a simple body switch, the author actually delves into what it means to take over someone else's body, as the MC wrestles between his memories and personality from his past life vs those of Lockhart. The dynamic is interesting, if a bit confusing at first, and it adds a large amount of realism that I quite enjoyed. That being said it also feels a bit strange later on as the MC hardly acts like his 16 year old self and is instead some weird amalgamation that isn't extremely likable. This all makes perfect sense but I sometimes felt a bit strange about his actions and thoughts. 
• Perhaps I should have mentioned this already, but the writing is very good. All of the chapters are long and are well written, with little to no spelling and grammatical errors. 
• Regarding smut. There has only been one true smut scene in the novel as of this review, with many less detailed encounters happening throughout. Women throw themselves at the MC constantly so he has no shortage of random partners to pick from.
• Regarding Romance/Harem. There has been very little romance and no harem so far. The author seems to be taking a slow burn approach, which fits with the main target of the romance so far. It feels thought out and well developed, so although it's slow, the payoff will feel very nice. As for harem, there has only been one (maybe two, considering a brief tease) romantic partner introduced, the rest are all casual s*x relationships but not really anyone steady, just a new random girl everyday that's briefly mentioned.
• There has been very little action so far as the MC has been using his time to build his power and get acclimated for the future. Maybe this will change as he becomes more skilled with magic and the plot of Harry Potter really starts going.
• The story also mainly involves OC characters and Harry Potter side characters, only briefly touching on some of the original story's main characters. I like this since it wouldn't make sense to be too heavily involved with major players yet.
• Overall, The Will of Gil is a great read. It's more complex and technical, as well as detailed, then many other novels I've read on this site, but not overbearingly so. If you're interested in Harry Potter, or even just well written fantasy stories (with adult themes) then I highly recommend this!

The MC is unlikeable in my opinion, with forced and incredibly choppy character development. He makes frustrating decisions non-stop. Even making the same mistakes over and over after vowing to avoid them in the future. His personality is just all over the place, changing every few chapters. And his interactions with others feel pretty soulless as a result. The story religiously follows the canon HP plot making the whole novel pretty boring, at least to me. Despite all that, the writing itself is pretty good. I'd give this a 2.5 if I could. TLDR: The MC is an uninteresting loser wearing the skin of Lockhart and going around banging any woman who'll let him and doing literally nothing of consequence.
