From the very first day she was born, Emery had a disease weakening her body to the point that she needed to stay in bed almost all day to survive. With a lot of empty time on her hand, she could often be found playing video games, watching anime or learning something on the internet. Having spent about half her life online, her knowledge was always impressive for her age. She knew a lot on a variety of subject, but not to the point of surpassing those who studied years at prestigious universities, still the number of time she couldn't say anything about a subject could be counted on one hand every year. At first, the hospital staff talking to her were mainly those who took pitied on her condition, but with time the little girl was able to gain their genuine friendship, she had to since the hospital was not only her home, but her second family. For reasons unknown to her, nobody ever told her the name of the disease she was afflicted with, no matter the number of time she asked. Her muscle condition was so weak that she couldn't leave her room for long, let alone go outside the hospital, even for short periods of time. The number of time she did could be counted on a single hand, all of which left her in a critical state.
Her family consist of a father, a mother and an older brother. They were always supportive of her condition. At first, her mother wanted to stay at the hospital with her daughter, but at some point she had to leave. Each member visiting at least once a week, they did their best over the years to support and spent time with Emery as much as they could. Her brother specifically was always bringing her miscellaneous things forbidden by the hospital in hope of entertaining his sister. Once, he sneaked up a very small amount of gunpowder to show her what a real explosion looked like.
When she was thirteen, Emery 15 years old brother got a girlfriend his age, and he didn't waste time to introduce the two together. The two girl quickly got along, mainly due to their shared interest in action movies. Less than a month after they met, the friend started visiting Emery on her own without waiting for the girl brother. Finding the two binge-watch some movies or show late at night wasn't a rare occurrence. A year later, the couple broke up, but the girl kept visiting Emery.
Unless in very harsh weather, Emery always asked the staff to keep her window open to let some fresh air in, this often led to a black cat sneaking in and keeping the girl company. The owner of the cat was unknown, but for the girl sanity, the staff let her see the cat as long as it didn't leave her room. A spider also made it nest in the high corner of her room near the window. When the staff was about to kill it, she insisted in keeping it there, saying that it already killed multiple fly and mosquito that were bothering her. Sometimes she could be seen talking to the spider, which made the staff very concerned about her mental state. Yet, as one of the few request Emery ever made, they let her keep it.
In the fifteen year she was alive, Emery attempted suicide multiple time to no avail. Cutting herself with cutlery and attempted self oxygen blockage, happened a few time over the years. Her closest attempt was when she fell off her bed and tried to jump off the window in her room. The weakened state of her muscle weren't enough to lift her to the window height, and staff found her crying on the ground. After seeing a psychologist a few time, her family was able to make her promise to never tried to kill herself ever again. The concerned staff was uncertain this promise would stop Emery, but afterwards the girl never tried again.
Physical description:
Emery had long blond hair, which she cut short herself once every few months. Slightly smaller than the average girl, she had a frail and slim body with a critically low amount of muscle for her age. Even if she ate quite well, her breast mass always stayed below average with little sign of growing up, it is unknown if it was due to her disease or her genetic. With the extremely low amount of natural sunlight she ever had, her skin was always pale. Compared to her brother and father who have blue eyes, Emery inherited her mother brown eyes. Despite her condition, she was often described as a beautiful young girl, or at least pretty by anyone who saw her once.
All this information was taken before her disappearance at the age of fifteen.
