(A/N) This is a small story inspired by Pr1vateLime's series on kingsmouth island challenge (made in the game project zomboid) and a "what if" about the reaction of some normal dudes in front of Claudette's insane achievement.

Rich land owner, Grimwald, once leisurely spending his time hunting and practicing with a sword, with nary a worry in the world, all of a sudden became riches to rags after a painful familial betrayal.
With no one there to protect him from a cruel technicality, and only able to take what he can carry from his land; he sets out with little more than clothes on his back, provisions and bitterness. His life turned into a monotony of dealing with low-lives, greedy merchants and shady characters.
Like in a mad unending loop, he resentfully struggles to find a way to make enough coin for day-by-day life.

"Oh yeah? Like what? You've got something better to do?" With a gulp from his tankard, Grimwald dismissed the man.
"Things you can't ever tell anyone." The man, unbothered by his attitude, continued.
A brief exchange occurred, after all. Grimwald questioned, and the man answered.
"The Empire's good people can sleep, because our enemies are afraid to."
"Afraid of what?" Grimwald asked, his interest now captured.

Earth was overtaken by the Calumnia ten years ago and if it weren't for the alien Occisio race who saved the remnants of humanity, Indi's race would have gone extinct. Now, at the age of sixteen, Indi and the other surviving children are about to complete their training and return to Earth to kill the monster that destroyed their world and killed their parents.

Eric Breeden is a hard worker. This showed when he was pulled to the World of Ahya to defend its peace. He adapted quickly, learning new skills, and soon became a warrior of some skill. After a brief death and a long break, he returns to help finish the job.

Megan Richards, with memories planted to aid her transition, suffers from a unique type of magic that involves another soul. She quickly masters this unique trait, however, and soon turns her skill towards helping Samuel Bragg and Eric Breeden fend off an invading enemy and restore balance.

These two ordinary people are now hailed as great heroes all across Ahya. Their story is spoken around campfires and sung by the bards. The only problem? With the sudden end to their mission, they're bored. They also don't want to leave Ahya behind and return to their normal lives. So they ask to stay and are granted permission.
