The blizzard rises day after day in the Frostbanks, forcing numbing snow and deadly winds onto the land and its people. In defiance to nature itself, the city of Oglios stands amidst the storm and even thrives thanks to the Suntower's protection, an artifact of old now relegated to simple fixture, its secrets fiercely guarded by the Scorched Circle, whose members regulate the flow of Returned, husks of the departed, in and out of the city.

Part of the larger nation of Gonphar, Oglios has obligations to respect if it wants to keep its relative independence, and the city's elite busies itself to fulfill their orders, supplying Gonphar as a whole with cheap labor in the ways of countless Returned. Meanwhile, the specter of war rears its dreadful head from across the mountains as border tensions with the Ehodan Kingdoms increase. Yet most ignore the threat, having more pressing concerns right within Oglios where warmth is limited, and free space is at a premium.

Three individuals converge during these trying times, lost in their personal struggles.

The Echo, an outsider in several degrees, returns to a family still mourning their mother's passing to uncover her wrongdoings. He would fulfill a promise, and perhaps find himself in the process, all the while having to conceal who and what he is.
The Dutiful reaches into criminal matters by authority of the Office of Inquiries. Held by guilt over her choices, she struggles to make it day-by-day, turning to Nostalgia for release. A thirst for vengeance fuels her will and keeps her going towards the ultimate goal.
The Collector, a mortician by trade, dwells in opposite circles. Pulled by decades old ties to the Circle, he stays loyal to the city in his own way by moving through the underworld in order to uproot corruption.

This is a work in progress, obviously. I want this to be a fully fleshed out novel eventually. It has a lot of moving pieces and things I'm still figuring out which is mostly still in my mind but I still wanted to put it out there, and hopefully get some feedback! Some chapters will very likely end up getting scrapped from the final product as I dig further into the story, and I will also go back and revisit older chapters to fix grammar, continuity errors, etc.

I started a timer on my phone for 3 minutes, (later changing this to 5 minutes, then 10 minutes etc) and just wrote whatever came into my head. I realised pretty quickly that I came to love the two characters I had created.

The "story" is a completely random and ever changing series of events following two characters in a fantasy world. I try to inject comedy in my writing as much as I can, and I haven't been taking the writing seriously, due to it being churned out as quickly as possible with minimal to no editing.

This is simply an exercise in getting my creative juices going. And I don't expect anyone to actually enjoy it or find it well written. <<less

A succesful magician on his deathbed gained another chance in another world. His pursuasion of magic give him yet another chance. After many lives, (T)he(y) returned to their first significant world as a golem.

A failed novice writer searching for an idea suddenly find himself being a decendent of an ancient spirit. His life got turned 180, and (s)he has to readjust to her class. Right after adopting a black fox, her whole class find themselves standing on a glowing magic circle.

A fox, adopted by a girl of the same (kinda) species find himself having feelings for her. After she gone missing, he wanders the street, but a glowing thing appears under his feet.

A boy, having an useless Gift that only allow him to fully neglect any stats reduction lower than his own, at the cost of having all stats being 1. But when his Gift levels up, his life start changing, and the secrets of the world start revealing themselves before him.

Curious creatures they are, taking shape in so many forms with so many personalities. One that all know, is known as the Tower Master, the floor master of floor zero, which is the Tutorial floor.

Floor master themselves govern the floors they take care of. Many think they were Climbers who predate the creation of the System, before the Architect disappeared. Others think they were placed by the Architect himself to protect his creations.

Nonetheless, the Tower of Sin, which no one seems to know where it got that name, connects many worlds. It pierces worlds and universes, bringing all toward a single path, towards the heavens.
