What does it mean to be a hero?
To love justice?
To save the weak from the strong?
To treat others with love and compassion?
In real life, there is no such thing as a hero.
Anyone who calls themselves a hero is simply doing it for self satisfaction.
Four people, all from widely different circumstances and scenarios, are linked together in a strange way, and explore the harsh realities of a new world in discovering that heroes don't exist, and that the only way to survive is through self interested motives.
Garett- a college student who has an excessive fascination for probability and the risk associated with random chance.
Ashley- a bum who has been isolated from others, and as a result of her social anxiety, holds hatred and fear towards others.
Trevor- a successful businessman who is the definition of arrogance and the incarnation of ego, who has never known failure.
Samantha- The neighborhood model, who every girl wishes to be like. Kind, compassionate, and loving towards others... in the public eye, at least.
These four are forcefully connected to one another and thrust into a fantasy world. Through their past failures, successes, and experiences, these four are certain of one thing- others are out to get them, and in order to survive, they must be willing to throw away any sense of naivety or any notion of becoming heroes.
This is the story of the Antiheroes.
Note: This story is inspired by a number of works, however the characters, world, writing, and art is of course my own. The work in which I will give the most credit to in the inspiration of this story, however, is Mayamura's Overlord.
