What happens when you see flashes of a man's life, who treated all living beings around him as fodder for his research? You wind up in a car accident with a broken leg. Then after being forced to experience thirty years of the man trying to reverse the condition that is causing him to fade from existence, he found himself in an Asylum, surrounded by the undead in the middle of a military training facility.

This is how David Wilson experienced the start of the apocalypse, surrounded by the undead and forced to try to find a way to escape an endless sea of corpses and monsters. His family was over several weeks away on foot, and he had nothing but a pair of hospital scrubs to his name. Now he has to try to survive while constantly suffering nightmares caused by the machinations of the Machine Lord.

The only thing he can rely on now is the very knowledge from the man he despises. While the Earth he knew is being ripped apart by mana and changed into a new world, he can only try to keep his friends and family safe. Armed with knowledge of enchanting, magical machinery, and alchemy, he can only do what he feels is best while trying to survive.
