The first time Mo Yixuan dies, he drowns in the sea. The second time he tries, he jumps off a cliff. The third time...
The third time never happens because somebody stops him instead.
His disciple says, "Shizun, I hated you. But now I just want to stay by your side."
His senior sighs, "Ah-Xuan, the world is too vast to be contained within a single human heart."
After transmigrating into a cultivation setting, all Mo Yixuan wants is peace and quiet in his new life. Becoming a peak lord of a secluded sect seems to net him exactly what he needs. Yet Heaven divines where Man designs, forcing each to face their fate. When the past is remembered and their debts revived, just who will accompany him in the end?
His disciple whispers, "My redemption."
His senior smiles, "My fated half."
Mo Yixuan only shakes his head. "My plan is to stay single."

Chinese Title:《修閒記》Xiu Xian Ji | Original story by me - not a translation!

Quite the enjoyable read if I do say so myself. I just love how nonchalant the MC is, to the point where he's kinda dense in my favorite way! Everything, so far, makes some sort of sense. Like how the MC gained a body and why the ML hates the original (not MC) guy. It's not willy nilly like other novels where it's like "Oh MC is dead, but fret not!! He got another body!" But there's no explanation of the body's original soul. So it was nice of the author to explain the fate of the original soul. And a plus is that there's none of that INSTANT romance with an enemy, it's sometimes nice, but it's NICER having a good slow romance

Oh I like the way you right. Especially the ancient way of cursing, haha! The flow is very nice paced, looking forward to when many realised he is different yet way better, haha!

Just finished reading chapter 20, so before I'm off to read other novels, this will be an encouragement to those who haven't discover this gem.
The story start out really good as the MC has his first life being described, how painful it was to point of
ending his own life
"Read!" "You must read!" This is goes straight into my top 5 must read list despite not having 'mpreg' tag on. Though, second after "The dumb husky and his white cat shizun" but consider this original not translation, this has top the list that I have read so far hundreds of novels including QT.
Finally, I just want to say, I LOVE YOU AUTHOR!

This is the first trasmigration novel I read where the MC didn't try to hug a big thigh.
And also the first where the MC completely and with honestly want to cut ties with the former host relationship with others.
It's great and refreshing. And it didn't seems like a book too. But maybe it is but the MC just didn't have a chance to read it.

I'm super enjoying this, but also shaking my head at Mo Yixuan. You can't just say you're going to try to kill someone when you know the body you're in was abusing them before!!! Omgosh I'm interested to see how Wuyue starts to fall in love.

It starts off a very easy read. I can tell the author put a lot of effort into world-building as well as character profiles. I think those aspects are important for writing well fleshed-out xianxia novels. It made immersing myself in the story easier and improved my reading experience.
The main characters are very well developed. Especially Nan Wuyue and Mo Yixuan. They each have their own unique and complex background and individual flaws which I find makes them a more dynamic duo. It's especially interesting to read whenever they interact.
The imagery is lovely lovely lovely! I can picture everything that's happening just perfectly in my mind. The author's writing style uses a lot of visual adjectives that really paint a solid picture of what's going on.
UNEXPECTED CONTENT:
The mystery arc that appeared halfway was a bit unexpected, but not unwelcome. With the timeline switching and various background information, it did take a bit more brainpower to read compared to the start of the novel, but I liked guessing and speculating as the chapters were published.
ENDING SPECULATIONS:
This may not end up 1v1 though (there are some undertones of a possible 3P ending so far) which some of you may consider a dealbreaker. I prefer 1v1 couple novels myself. Since this novel is not R18 though, I find that I don't particularly mind a possible 3P ending. It's also looking to be a slow burn... (prepare your impatient danmei hearts!)
I also loved the new character profiles at the end of each chapter as well as the links to Chinese songs. They make surprising little extras on top of an already lengthy chapter. If you're a danmei addict like me, you'll take all you can get hahaha.

This! This is the kind of novel I wouldn't get tired of re-reading. It is written very well that it isn't impossible for someone to mistook it for a translation. Even I, who knows this is an original novel, doubt myself sometimes as I read. Totally recommended!
I can't really put my love for this book into words so I won't be writing a long review. However, author - sama, I am so proud of you. This novel is a real work of art! (•̀ W •́) ✧
