Dungeon: A place full of monsters, traps, treasure, and death. Those are the Great Dungeons, with unplumbed depths below the roots of the mountains.
That's not for me.
Dungeon: A place of rape, torture, and death, to control and corral enemies and slaves. These are the Red Cores, from which the mage-kings draw their power.
That's also not for me.
I don't like monsters. I don't want adventurers. I want to stay well away from enemies and slaves.
Fortunately, there are alternatives...
(Includes explicit and consensual sexual content. Chapters containing such will be marked.)
Weekly release schedule.
A fun solid story, with edgy aspects done well.
I don't like the MC set-up, hard to relate/follow a program/dungeon, don't know what he's feeling or care tbh. At some point the chapters kept droning on about the composition of magic and rocks, the plot wasn't keeping up, I dropped it.

Very minor spoilers ahead. So much could be said about this story, but I don't really want to get into details or spoilers. I followed this story since the beginning, took a break from it, and then came back for the end. The author talks about the mistakes he sees, but truthfully this is a wonderful read from start to finish. The romance aspect is well merged with the Dungeon and Political aspects. Sadly for those who like Politics, despite some earlier setups for it, the wider world never truly becomes relevant. The best way to explain it, is that the world grows in perfect sync with the character, keeping a wonderful feeling of pacing up until they start to play on the international stage at which point it just doesn't go anywhere. Despite all the threads that would allow for a grander scale political narrative, it doesn't happen. Instead, they go on to fight the big final boss. The source of the depletion (and no this isn't really a spoiler) in a suitably epic way. This means that for some, myself included, it feels like there were a lot of interesting threads that never get addressed, and that's fine. If what you want is a dungeon story with multiple perspectives and no focus on dungeon monsters, this is a wonderful story. If you want a mechanically interesting world with good romance, this is a wonderful story. If you want engaging political drama. You're reading the wrong story. Also, props again to the ending and the epilogue. It was satisfying in a way few endings are. I congratulate the author on nailing that at least.
