As far as xianxia and cultivation stories go, this one is a hidden gem. Although it does not have a whole lot of chapters yet, it shows great promise with the chapters that exist so far. The world-building is nice, and it feels like the author has done a fair amount of research and thinking on how to put things together, interweaving the more historical aspects with the more fantastical elements. The protagonist, the unwilling transmigrator Huo Ye, seems quite pragmatic to my eyes, which is a plus. I also found it interesting to follow him as he adapts to his new circumstances, and how the people around him adapt to him (or rather,
to the suddenly changed personality of the person whose body he now inhabits).
