Connor has always had a crush on his straight best friend, but knows that they can never be together. But while his family is sorting through his recently deceased uncle's things, Connor discovers something he immediately recognizes as faery technology. Unsure of what it does, he plans to sell it until two pixies follow him home to explain: the device is a glamour disk, and it will let him look however he wants. Seeing an opportunity to do something he thought impossible, Connor uses the device to make himself look like a girl so he can ask out his best friend. He feels bad lying like this, but it's only for the summer and he's so in love with this boy. Unfortunately, it seems like the pixies weren't the only people interested in the disk, because something is lurking in the shadows and keeping an eye on Connor. Now, Connor has to balance his fake life, hiding his pixie companions, dealing with his parents, and keeping an eye on this shadowy figure, all while he slowly starts to feel more and more attached to being a girl for some reason. But surely he can handle this, right? As long as that mage-in-training doesn't figure out what's going on.
