Darth Vader dies in the arms of his son, having killed his master and gone back to the light side of the Force.
And then he wakes up, finding himself into a little primitive planet that hasn't even achieved interstellar travel, where the government is corrupt and the heroes are ineffective, in a city that could almost be called a hive of scum and villainy, dominated by a gang that calls itself the Empire 88 and another that practices slavery.
He wants to be better, he wants to overcome his past, but damn, the city REALLY isn't making it easy for him.
Sometimes, a former Sith Lord just wants to force choke a bitch
I'll also be posting this in Royalroad.com and other sites.
Huh, didn't know this was being uploaded here as well but I read it so here's a review. To people wondering what Worm is since it isn't common knowledge on this site, there'll be a quick explanation at the end.
It's a fairly simple concept: de-age Darth Vader, drop him into Worm and watch the fireworks. It works. Vader's characterization is done quite well, there is nuance there beyond 'big man in mask force choke everyone', he may be de-aged and de-grilled but his experience shines through, this is not clone wars Anakin. We do get the feeling that this is his attempt at redemption without losing his pride and ideals. I feel like Miss Militia is for once more of a character beyond 'eye crinkle lady'. Dinah is Dinah. Very good.
It's written quite well, I didn't find any grammar errors, 'nough said about that
Plot (no spoilers just general stuff), It's a typical wormfic plot wise. Not very brave in exploring the setting, just the typical Brockton Bay plotline sans Taylor Hebert (for now). This is still early in the story so it might surprise me but, I doubt it. I won't rib it too much for this, it's a tried and tested formula and it works well enough, not too tropey and it at least focuses on character so the author knows what they're doing.
* For people seeing 'Worm' and asking "tf is this?", it's a grim dark (yes grim dark, it actually rivals 40k for how f**ked up it is if on a smaller scale) web novel parody of the superhero genre by Wildbow, mostly ribbing the 'tragic backstory' and 'superpowers just happen' tropes. It is a very interesting and unique read, but most people read the first third and go read wormfics because it can be a very long and depressing slog at times. It follows a deeply traumatized teenager with bug control powers trying (and mostly failing) to do the right thing in a world with more plots and masterminds then common sense. If you take the plunge and read wormfics: prepare to be trapped for months, there is an absurd number of wormfics of very varying quality (at least 12, 500 according to wormstorysearch. Com).

It is beautiful. Thank you. I don't know about Worm, but this fic made me look for it. I loved seeing Darth Vader in a Caped World. This fanfic is definitely one of a kind since their aren't any Drath X Hero fic out their. Moreover, this one in particular is very well written.

Great story. Absolutely love it.
I haven't read many Anakin-centric redemption fics, but I like that he's still a powerful dark-side user and hasn't swung too far in the other direction. The title cover is really fitting, with a split between Anakin and Vader.

Kenrio's Review is BS: I read this on RR and wouldn't have bothered writing a review here at all if not for seeing such a completely invalid review. Anikan explicitly doesn't care about participating in the unwritten rules, upholding the status quo, or hiding his power. For a brief time before fully comprehending the world he has found himself on and the path he wants to take, he restrains his powers in part because he doesn't encounter anyone who can resist the Jedi Mind Trick. As soon as this changes we get to witness an awesome display of crumbling buildings and ruthless efficiency.
Same review I left for the story on Royal Road. This story is incredible. It doesn't require having read Worm though that story is well worth reading itself.
I went into this story curious to read about what a newly redeemed Darth Vader would be like and got so much more, mainly in a truly excellent master-apprentice relationship with the Worm character Dinah Alcott. For Anikan, Dinah represents a chance to do better than the teachings of the Jedi, who he still believes failed him, and the Sith, whose selfishness he knows can only bring more pain.
Dinah is excellently written, diverging naturally from her character in Worm under Anakin's influence. As Anikan grows to care for the girl, we get to see what a full-powered Darth Vader can and will do to protect those he cares for... and it's epic.
Anikan is so far in the story very overpowered compared to both the heroes and villains of Brokton Bay, but it's a well-used overpowered. We get thrilling and often bloody fights where Anikan is certainly struggling, but not so much with winning, but rather winning without losing himself to the Dark and killing everyone.
Having Anikan's primary focus being on protecting and training Dinah, while trying to recover from the influence of the Dark, means fighting is often a hindrance to his goals and not a means to achieve them. It's honestly the most compelling dynamic I've ever seen for an overpowered protagonist in a story.
I'll mention that spelling and grammar aren't perfect, with mistakes being noticeable, albeit both minor and infrequent. It's not an advanced review, but you could probably consider grammar a 4/5 or 4.5/5 with a bit of generosity, a noticeable step up from the author's Supergirl fanfic, which is 3 or 3.5/5.

My expectation was comlletely shattered to see a Darth Vader that hide his power, his his identy and show care for the status quo of the city because of a terrible excuse made by author

Good grammar, decent enough word count, believable characters and dialogue. My one big complaint would be the "ending" being a massive cliffhanger in the middle of the primary climax, normally I'd brush it off as "ongoing" but due to the last chapter being released entire months before I'd even started reading I'd say it is more deserving of the "cliffhanger ending" title.
Give this like 2 more years to get a couple more chapters before reading and it would likely be one of the few contenders on this site for a 5 star rating.

Damn, I honestly didn't expect the story to so good.
You even provided short and good summarization of WORM of whom I had no knowledge of.
I'll definitely keep reading, so please don't drop this story!
ps. I've already added worm to my "to read" list :)
