Synopsis

For a first warning, this is not something you should expect to be updated frequently. It is merely a hobby and something I plan to do if I have free time to spare and if I find the time to do some writing over other things. I will however, try to make chapters of a decent length and hopefully, they are worth any amount of wait time for those interested. Also keep in mind this is a first attempt at a story, so there will be inspirations... along with probably bad writing. Although it's plenty hard to make an original concept entirely.

Cassovia is an upcoming VRMMO, it's one of the few tested games that grabs the International audience! As this is one of the few points that attracts all the players wanting to play the game, who knows what kind of experience a person can find? They can meet unlikely friends from around the world, or even take an interest of another's everyday life... the more you think about it, that isn't really much different from what happened with... weebs? I'm not allowed to refer to them as that...? I am? Which is it? Otakus to be safe?

Okay... anyway, I somehow established a reputation within this virtual world. Before you ask, no, I'm not some tryhard who figures out every mechanic, nor am I a strategist who can formulate plans simultaneously, and don't even get me started on being skillful. I had zero experience, first game I've touched ever in my life. Why I chose to dive into my first game with a VRMMO? I don't know.

All I know is, I somehow became a recognized person in this game, and all I really did was play for fun. I guess I could've been lucky... but maybe I just stumbled upon hell earlier than anyone else who was more familiar with MMORPG games, I didn't know the usual interaction of getting a quest at first, so maybe the reason I got ahead was... unorthodox? I was told you don't normally talk to NPC's like people after all.

Disclaimer: I do not plan to make any implications to anything I have added, if I have something I know I inspired off of another series, I will make sure to include what series I did inspire a specific/multiple scenes off of. Otherwise, any similarities are purely coincidental.

I will take some constructive criticism, as it could help me figure out how to structure things a bit better and maybe find my "correct" way of writing. Make sure to specify as I'll have a hard time identifying the problems if it isn't obvious. I could also just not be focused enough to see the implication within the comment.

(I am unsure if the content warning is necessary, but I will include gore and strong language just in case... Even though I don't plan to show actual blood, I still don't know the full implications of "gore".)

    Status: ch. 9: preparation begin…?

Generally speaking, I'm no great fan of LitRPGs and I have not read that many of them. This one however is the best one I have read so far. The polls that I saw were clean and to the point, which was a welcome change to another LitRPG I just read, which was a mess, to put it mildly. Here, I think the story flows a lot easier, and the main character appears pretty reasonable and capable of making logical decisions. The explanations of the world's mechanics also flow waaaay smoother than my previous reading experience. But yeah, enough about that. This story is the best LitRPG that I have read so far.

There are a couple of things I wish to remark upon however:

Firstly, there is a certain tendency to mix verb tenses, like suddenly shifting from present tense to past tense without any real logic. Here is an example of this from chapter 2:

    Spoiler

I press yes, after that, I also selected the warrior class. Once I pressed yes on the prompt, my vision was suddenly brightened up, forcing me to shut my eyes until I felt the sensation of wind drive by my body while slowly gaining back my senses. I opened my eyes and was in the middle of a town... a few other players around me appeared at first as some light figure and then it gradually turned into the avatar they were.

Secondly, while I found the inclusion of the text boxes and the multicoloured texts pretty neat, I also found portions difficult to read due to the colour choices.

Thirdly, some paragraphs become really long, and splitting them up into shorter ones would increase readability a lot. (See the paragraph right above the text box "Waning Kirin's Blessing" in chapter 4 for one example)
