This is the story of a woman from a dystopian cyberpunk world who, due to unforeseen circumstances, finds herself in a world of magic, monsters and intrigue.
With her cybernetic augments and incompatible sensibilities, how does she survive in her new environment?
If I were to describe this story in my own words, I would put "Equal parts irritating and amusing." This review will explain what I mean by that.
The Characters: The characters in this story are good. I wouldn't call them incredible or anything but I do like how the main character acts and thinks. To me she seems almost stuck in a nonchalant "Okay, this is happening." format that sometimes diverges into mild panic, anxiety, or irritation. Perhaps that's just the software and cybernetics talking but I can't be too sure of that. The other characters are good but lack a more lifelike and descriptive depth to them. Including the main characters love interest. So yeah, The main character is my favorite.
The Plot: The story overall is... fine so far. I'd give it a 3.5 to 4 rating as it is now. Remember that equal parts amusing and irritating thing I mentioned? The plot is why. Firstly because everything in it proceeds at a rather fast pace. It's irritating to me because it feels like the 31 chapters I read so far could have easily been 40 or 45 chapters with the same content but just at a slower and more slice of life pace that focuses more on fleshing out everything. But at the same time it's amusing to me because it feels like the author gave the main character a plot convenience easy button so that the plots speed doesn't leave her behind. So situations keep happening so fast that I get a chuckle every time I go "Already?! That easily?! That was fast."
Tldr: The story is good but not great. As of now I wouldn't give it anything higher than 4 stars. But I will be sticking with this story so that rating might change in the future.
