I don't think the revenge thing is covered. If his people betrayed him and sent him as a wife to the emperor and then framed him, that's one thing. But about the emperor, it's not clear. In fact, he takes revenge on him more than anyone else, but in the end, the emperor becomes pathetic. He has negative character traits, but he's not shown as a complete villain.
Yes, he executed the protagonist, but he executed him as a traitor. He is the emperor after all.
I like what you write, but it lacks more character revelation and backstory.
