Have you read Trouble With Horns? Well, you're in for more of the wonderful stuff that made that story tick, but this time around, more like, Trouble With Super Freaking Cool Void Fear-eating Chains. Or something.
The prose in this story is really sharp, with excellent dialogue and intricately woven worldbuilding and detail, and the characters are already so very strong. As excited as I was for each new chapter of Trouble, I'm just as excited, maybe even moreso, to see where the chapters of this story go.
I strongly, strongly recommend this story. You don't want to miss it.
Witch of Chains is an amazing story that lives up to QuietValerie's amazing reputation as a writer. Set in the Troubleverse, Witch of Chains brings you into Rosa's journey to heal, trust people again and fall in love.
There is sooo much cool stuff planned for this story I can't spoil but yeah read it!
Swapping between the perspectives of Rosa and Amelia is so perfect for this story. They're both adorable in their own ways, and with how well they're written, it'd be fairly easy to tell them apart even without labels.
I can't wait to see how their relationship progresses and what Rosa does with her character.
This is another beautiful gay story from (in my opinion) the best author of trans stories.
I love this story. It has the great world building of an established universe, it is deeply moving and it juggles the two different perspectives very well. But the best thing about it are the two main characters, who are just so incredibly alive and relatable. There were so many times I just wanted to give them both hugs, before remembering at least one of them wouldn’t want that. And then remembering they were fictional characters, so hugging them was kinda difficult.
This is super good! The dual perspective from Rosa and Amelia while have such different tones, give a nice back and forth that leave you wanting more. I can't wait to read more of their growth as characters and hopefully a couple!
I hope to see more of this story. I like happy go luck character as much as the next reader but variety is the spice of life and this is a fresh perspective on characters for me. I really enjoy reading about how the two main character slowly become closer over time and begin to trust each other’s. My heart really does go out to both main characters, they have been really through some sh*t.

It's another cute and adorable transgender story by QuietValerie. However, this time, there's a lot more hugging and cuddling for comfort and emotional support from our sweet, little couple.
Both characters are fun to see the perspectives of, the tie ins to Trouble are great and I love how dark the Witch is. Excellent writing and character development!
While it took me until this last chapter to really get into this story but Rosa is an interesting protagonist in a sea of stories that are fairly happy go lucky and the fact that she has good reason to be as she is makes the story 1000% more relatable. Plus Vale is an awesome writer so this story is pretty damn amazing.

honestly this story feels vastly incomplete, half the plot points aren't addressed and this story is a lot more telling without showing...
while Rose has a decently developed backstory, we know hardly anything about Amelia, our second protagonist...
the focus is to spread out over the multiple novels, causing them to become underdeveloped.
it's unfortunate...
