The name of the series is "Archived Cases of the United Kingdom," which was told in the noir style, with that somber air and background music that gets on the nerves.

So one fine day after going to sleep, he woke up in a very cold forest and clearly not in China anymore, still wearing his favorite pajamas, he just didn’t understand what was happening.

Until he finally found a road and a local cop helped him to go somewhere safe.

Finally, he realized, after not being able to understand the police officer because he spoke a different language, that he was in a world totally different from his, or at least, he was no longer in China.

Edmund Lockwood is a forensic investigator for 10 years, is now 35 years old and remains single, always worried about his work and a little disillusioned by life, until he is in charge of helping this mysterious man who, according to documentary records, doesn’t exist in this world, which can be a case of human trafficking or identity exchange.

As the investigation unfolds, Edmund was responsible for helping this mysterious man adapt to Charleston and assist in his investigation, since Edmund Lockwood was one of the few people Mandarin-speaking in the police office, of course, besides the interpreter.

Hello everyone! I want to present a story I was writing a while back. I didn't get a writers block or any of the kind preventing me from finishing the story. I ended up getting no reliable feedback about my writing from those I sent it to. What I need to continue is feedback about my writing, examples such as: How my grammar is, am I describing things enough in detail or maybe too much? Are the characters likable, funny or realistic. Well, basically, I wanted to know if my way of writing was good enough to continue in that style. At first I started off web-novel style (the prologue). After which I changed it as I got more and more into writing, in the end, I think I adopted a more "book" type of writing style. Thirteen years later, Maya dies trying to bravely rescue a girl who reminds her of Chae-Won from the same back alley situation, and gets transferred to a ruined world. All previous deities ― except for one last goddess, the same Chae-Won Choi who was her friend ― have abandoned it to its fate. Chae-Won is otherwise stuck ― alone ― in this world; but so is Alemayehu, who she has summoned.

The reason? A cruel endless plague has turned normal living sentient beings into artificial undead ... and also turned a once fertile ground into desert wasteland. This world is larger than Earth, has a larger percent of its surface as a landmass; the plague took nearly no time to spread through the world. For almost half a century this plague has raged, with now less than 0.01 percent of its pre-plague populace free from the plague.

The lone goddess is at her wit's end. To save the world ― or to save herself from going mad upon it ― she gave up on the chance to leave it; she now must summon a Hero who will be her last ultimate Champion to the remaining survivors. Once at a world populace exceeding fifteen *billion* sentient lives, it now has barely one and a half million living, and now twenty billion undead.

The situation has gone from bad to worse, and the state of the world with it; its survivors no longer care to think of it as an ideal world. Despite this, they still try to survive the best they can, or at least to not die out suddenly. The goddess Chae-Won has been trying to nurture an elite few of the remaining populace to be sort of heroes, to mixed results.

Maya, tasked with going to this world to organize and train the survivalists ... just might help bring their world back to the state it once was, with the goddess' help. <<less
