Magicians, a person with a genetic thing inside them that produce something that's been called magic. A very rare genetic occurrence, and it got more rare with time as these people were quite quickly rounded up by different governments and countries for various reasons.
Nana was one of these magicians.
She noticed that she had the gene at the age of 15 in an accident.
Magic wasn't really magic, it was named that since that's what it looked like when it was first observed so naturally people assumed that's what it was!
But, in reality, It's a powersource. A substance that's in your blood, created by a specific gene that started appearing in people... more>> all over the world. And depending on the gene you could be filled with more or less.
It’s like a rechargeable never dying battery. You can't lose it, you can just temporarily exhaust your magic and then have to wait for your body to produce more.
What your "magic" could accomplish or how much it could be used before reaching exhaustion differed immensely of course, just like the maximum amount that the body could hold differed wildly as well.
And depending on your genetics you could get better at using it, expand what you could do with it. Sort of like training your muscles and your brain. If you train a lot, new heights can be reached to a certain point.
It's a source of power that could be applied and used in potentially limitless ways…
And certain people observing the world from the future want to get their hands on these magic users to use for their own experiments, as the gene is rare and almost gone in the vast future, the one’s with extremely overwhelming magic power are being targeted...
You'll follow two different protagonists, viewing the story from two different sides.(eventually as we get chapter 2 out)

Yes, this is a "reprint" of a book published in the 1970s. This is not new or being written, it was finished 50 and published years ago. All chapters are being uploaded on a release schedule, but the story is already finished and complete.

NOTE: Each “chapter” is its own short story that stands on its own. The collected chapters, as a whole, tell many facets of the events surrounding Quaraun’s life and the lives of his friends and family. As such, the “chapters” do not progress in a linear beginning to end fashion, rather, they move forward and backward in time, including time travel portal travel, and flashbacks. The full series spans a time period from 800A.D. to the year 2525, with stories zipping back and forth to any era between those years.

This means you can read each “chapter” on its own, in any order, without reading the ones before or after it, or can read them in any order you please, if you choose to do so.

It’s lots and lots and lots of short stories about one character and his friends and family. Every main character with in each story is somehow a friend or relation to Quaraun, even in the stories Quaraun himself does not appear in.

I’ve tried to make sure editing was complete before uploaded, but some typos or grammar errors may have slipped through. If so, I’ll edit those as I notice them.

Note: I am Scottish, and this book is written in my native language. NO, BoomFuzzy's dialogue is NOT a made up language it is a very real world language called Gypsy Cant also known as Scottish English also known as Gaelic- if you have trouble understanding him, there are plenty of Scottish English/Gaelic to American English Dictionaries out there. American English is not my native language, and this series uses Scottish English spellings and grammar. (No, this is NOT UK English or British English)

In the year 2000, 18-year-old Steven Vincenzo moved from the Philippines to the USA due to his father's promotion. They settle down in a small neighborhood known as Izzaya, in a city called Haggrew. Just a few days after moving, he finds out about a dark past from the Prohibition Era that still haunts the neighborhood, a dark past full of grizzly murders and kidnappings. Determined to know more about it, he finds out that there are ties to an old abandoned house he always passes by in the neighborhood, seeing it as a lead. In order to find out more, he needed to go into the abandoned house where he finds a mysterious door that isn't like any other in the house. The infamous door that was presumed to be "The Culprit's Room." He enters the room where he suddenly got sucked in by an unstoppable force.
He wakes up outside the abandoned house, to a confused girl in front of him trying to get him back into his senses. This girl was wearing vintage clothing and had quite a distinct accent that Steven had never heard of before, except in movies and TV series. Looking around, he knew something was definitely wrong. The abandoned house looked newly built along with other old houses in the vicinity. Trying to understand the situation he's in with all the clues he has, he eventually asks the girl what year it currently was to confirm his speculations. To this, the girl replies with a serious tone, "1927."

Steven doesn't know what to do with all this information. Will he be happy that he could know more about the dark past and possibly try preventing it? Will he be distressed in trying to figure out how to come back to his own time?

Ahhh I don't really know what else to add but ill write it here anyway, this is my first time writing a story, so I am still experimenting with things, so it is possible that you might find the beginning of the story to be a bit slow, but I assure you the later chapters and things I have in plan will not disappoint you.

Oh, I also forgot to mention that I have taken inspiration from waaaay tooo many novels that I liked, and while there aren't any specific ones that I based this upon there are a few that I definitely took inspiration from like : the author's POV, chronicles of the heavenly demon [you can probably see where this inspired me ;)], etc.

This is a game I greatly enjoyed, and recently I saw some inspiration to create a novelized counter-part that will roughly follow the events of the story and extrapolate out on some scenarios involving the myriad of characters available in the game.

For the most part, this will primarily consist of a series of polls for what characters people might prefer to see utilized in various sections of the game. I will be listing the options I feel I can reasonably leverage at said points in the game, and asking reader opinions in order to choose between the options. For those who have not played the game, I will be giving a detailed description of the characters at the key points in the game. I will also be providing something of a rough outline while I'm providing these option.

(For story pacing reasons, I plan to change the order of some events. For instance, working in the Absolute Zero Chain (the 1st story in the IDA school arc) on the very first visit to Elzion.)
