I really like this novel, the grammar is correct, (I'm not 100% sure about this since it isn't my first language) the style is simple and the plot is new and interesting.
Although there are two things that I don't understand and, only the second one, don't like:
He uses BREAD to break the fireplace and he use it for engravings...
And most importantly he talks about an ace that he uses to accomplish something quite important but the author doesn't explain what it is AT ALL... He uses it, he accomplish his goal, the end... ??
Still, it's pleasing to read, good job author and keep it up! ;)
Edit:
Chapter 35
Four stars. The story is still very interesting. I believe there is an improvement in the style of the author and the grammar is good.I cants say for certain, since I read the first chapters long time ago, but there might be a positive increase in the complexity of the sentences. The protagonist is well rounded, both for the personality and powers. Especially his personality, although I personally don't find him as cold as charcoal says (an other reviewer), he is a believable human being. It requires the author to describe the character and his thoughts in a relatively detailed way, that is not so easy to find. Especially here on scribble hub. Definitely a story in the upper-level of this site.
Confusing. Story is interesting, normally I hate slavery tales, rape is evil, but this story surprised me and hooked me. Despite that it is a very confusing read as many details seem to only be in the authors head, characters just suddenly start acting or saying things without the events to show how they gained the knowledge or became they way they now are as opposed to how they were introduced or their motivations.
The story is damn good. Dont let the cliche title throw you off at all. The story is well written. The story gets progressively more sophisticated and gets better as the author weaves his magic.
Just as the synopsis says, the MC is a slave. He is not incredibly strong either (initially at least). He has his limits and his struggles.
What surprised me most is the emotional depth. I was honestly not expecting something of that calibre. You can sense the paranoia without being directly told about it. The necessary apathy that the MC develops to compensate for his vulnerability.
Don't be misguided the MC is no pencil pusher here. He is cold, pragmatic and emotionally understanding of others behaviour and nuances and also holds grudges.
This sets a recipe for a damn good pot of possibilities that I very eager to witness
