One of the 8 Continents.
One of the 8 Continents.
The stronghold of the Venomous Butterfly on the Heavenly Sky continent.
One of the Kingdoms of the Divine Wood continent.
The Venomous Butterfly, Lord of the Bloodmoon Palace.
A Peak Black Qi realm Devil Cultivator who has been reincarnated in the body of Ren Yao, the profligate son of the Ren family of the Azure Sky Kingdom.
Reading the summary and the tags, I figured there was a fair chance this story would be good. But although it did introduce a few interesting concepts, I did not find it particularly compelling.
Granted, it is an often seen feature of xianxia/cultivation stories to use excessively flowery language to describe a character's features and actions and whatnot. However, there are limits, and at times, it just sounds ridiculous, like in this excerpt from the start of chapter one:
"Ren Yao! Your wicked schemes and evil acts will finally end."
The old white-haired elder with the fiery gaze cried out as he levelled his sword, pointing the tip directly at the accused in a threatening manner. All around him several other white-bearded old coots also tightened their grips on various weapons.
Clunky, so clunky. I'd probably have put it something like...
"Ren Yao!" cried the white-haired elder, glaring fiercely towards the accused while pointing his sword in the other's direction. "Your wicked schemes and evil acts shall finally end!"
At this, the rest of the white-bearded old coots also tightened their grips on various weapons.
There are a number of similar occurrences, but I do not see much reason to list them here.
In any case, as a concept, I guess this was interesting enough. The execution did not particularly appeal to me however, whether it was the narration or the characters themselves - though mostly the former.
Furthermore, in regards to the existing content warnings, the warning for s*xual content is indeed warranted. I can't say said content appealed to me, but it was definitely there. However, considering the bodily modifications the protagonist did in order to bring about such content, I'd say that a content warning for something like gore would be in order.
