Midas, a man who can turn what he touches to gold, and Vee, a woman whose touch will kill- These abilities are a curse that draws them to each other.

When Vee is ordered to assassinate Midas, she dons her disguise, taking on the persona of her alter-ego, a man called Shade, the Assassin of Decay. Midas doesn't know that the assassin has been ordered to end his life as he believes he's hired this mysterious man, Shade, to work for him. Things get complicated when Midas discovers their astonishing connection and finds himself drawn to this stranger. Midas' touch reawakens long-dead feelings within Vee but she finds herself unable to let go of her fears.
