Born with everything one could dream of, Deverick finds himself lost in his goal in life. A rich and powerful family, a caring sister, the strongest nation, and a unique talent. His family for one, is rich enough that he and generations to come could literally live as wastrels and there would still be money left over. As Deverick becomes aware of his situation, he ponders if he wants to follow such a lifestyle.
This idleness changes one day when he discovers his talent: a connection to runes. Spurned on by his curiosity, he throws himself into the study of magic and the interaction of runes. After laying dormant for a dozen years, he emerges as a professor in the most prestigious magic university, at the tender age of 18 no less! Watch as he redefines the very foundation of magic over his career as a professor.
I'll rate it three stars
Some tips for the author.
The characters feel very 2D no character interaction besides one or two sentences in 18 chapters. No family interaction is a very big problem we don't even meet his sister until Chapter 20, that's a big yikes for me. These can easily be fixed by going back and adding scenes but it's completely optional.
The story has no pull as of Chapter 21 to make me want to read more. We need something. Maybe add some conflict or family drama. If you don't want to do that maybe go in another direction and add some more to the runes and the MC's exploration and observation of them.
This is my opinion but the story feels like you're skipping to get to the parts you want to write about and the rest of the story suffers.
Overall not bad but it can be improved.
