People said it was so original, but it wasn't. People missed the trick. You see, most stories have MCs with tragic backstories. GoT just STARTED at the tragic backstory. Instead of glossing over the destruction of the hero's family and the rise of evil, we got to see it.

That's what this story is. This is the very very very very VERY beginning, and then a few days before that. We start with the MC right before he hits rock bottom. However, I plan for quite the arc for my MC, so right before takes up about 20 chapters. I'm pointing this out because well, the story to start is about the MC hitting rock bottom, and then crawling his way back. And I mean... rock bottom. But, after that point the traditional story begins.

In a way, this story is a prequel to a series of novels I haven't written yet.

The following is the first story in a series of stories that I have been working on for a very long time. You could say I've been working on this for close to six years now, although I wouldn't say it reached its current form until a year ago. I feel I need to inform you of my ambition both as a warning and as a personal challenge to myself.

This is going to be long.

As far as I am concerned, American Comics and Science Fiction in general is DEAD. I have given up on TV and movies as well and now I spend my time playing video games. That is, until I started reading Manga.

There is some good manga out there.

Alas, I cannot read any language except english, so I've been stuck with translations but even so, I can see the stories, fill in the blanks, and in particular I have been reading a great deal of Isekai. You know the story; Guy gets hit with a black truck, or a god shows up, or he's playing a video game and winds up inside, something like that. About a year ago I started to ask myself, "Why?"

Why does this happen?

I'm a writer, so I made up an answer. Then there were implications. Those needed to be explored. How did this happen? What would be the results? How does this affect the laws of physics? How does magic work? What would be the universal laws of magic? What would be a local law? How does time travel factor in? What is time? Does time exist? What about the gods? Demons? Conflict?

And on and on and on and ON.

And as I started to write out my answers, I noticed that a great deal of this already meshed with another project I had worked on a long time ago. In fact, it fit perfectly. Then I started to look through all my old discarded inventory and realized something.

It is all the same story.

It all fit together, I just had to connect the pieces. One massive on going meta-plot arc that I had been writing for years and didn't even notice. That's what this story is about.

Why do humans keep getting taken from our world and stuck in these insane situations?

In short, I aim to create the definitive work that ties everything together. Theoretically, once finished, you could take any other manga and it'll fit in. I hope when this project is finished, you will rethink every manga you ever read.

Am I making a promise I can't deliver? Maybe.
