Status: chapter 41: the world after part 1.

I really wanted to like the novel. But in the most recent chapters the author did a random 'world ending event' in about a few hundred words, before shifting into completely removing the main part of the power the MC had been using from that point on.

It is difficult as a reader to watch an MC get the short end. What happened here though is almost entirely just a nuke button, wipe and start again. Multiple chapters of godlike beings mystically altering souls and flying around watching things. If it was setup to something, it failed to be intriguing. If it was foreshadowing, its done pretty good at being in the foreground instead.

I might revisit the story when the author writes a lot more chapters, but it really feels like they just threw in a 'bad end' randomly to keep the stakes high and it didn't land well. The book is well written overall though with minimal issues reading, I'm just curious how much is on the spot.

There it is, this author's special: Random bad end that is arbitrary and sudden for the pure sake of drama... Or something. Every novel of this author's I have read has gone the same way, they screw up their pacing and instead of learning from it or trying to slow down and adjust their pacing to something more manageable, they just hit the nuke button and say "f**k it, I didn't like my story anyways." Nothing ever matters, whether that be character relations, character development, or story direction. It All. Doesn't. Matter. Because this author panick nukes the story every single time, always goes from 0 to 180 every single time. Stop trying to be M. Night Shyamalan with the twists, he wasn't good at it and you are worse. Please, just stop ruining your stories cause you get uncomfortable with them, you have some damn good potential with your ideas and set ups, stop tossing them away for shock and awe tactics cause all you do is leave readers with little options other than to drop it and move on.

    Status: chapter 12: peanut butter?

Aside from the rapid jumping of the plot, and the speed of the protagonist adapting to his new life, this novel offers just what you'd expect. Marvel in this scenario isn't specifically inclined to the MCU and the author appears to want to incorporate other themes, perhaps from both the comics and animations. The Protagonist appears to also be quite overpowered but isn't granted every power of Shazam instantly, rather he starts with Solomon and grows from there... Interacts with many heroes early on as well, let's see how it'll develop
