    Status: chapter 28 – “i’m sorry”

    Two things to begin with.

First, I have provided input on this story to a fair extent, although I’ve been rather lax with my beta’ing lately thanks to having been laden with various real life tasks (and also a small writing project for my own audience). So, I am very biased on the quality of this story.

Second, this is a story which, while fairly uneven with its technical aspects (albeit excusably so, as Gwenington is a non-native English speaker), is a fantastic story with a good degree of nuance in how it addresses trans identity and teenage relationships. It uses its setup effectively, delivers many emotionally satisfying moments, and will hopefully continue to receive the attention it deserves.

    5/5, recommended.

This story has the best trans main character I've read in a long time, except maybe the one in "how can I save the world if I'm not longer a hero". She feels so well rounded and realistic, especially with her anxious attachment. Not to say other trans stories are bad, but it's rare to see the main characters with any obvious flaws while still being sympathetic. A very well written character arc, and core struggle that includes her trans issues but isn't exclusive to it. The other characters are also extremely memorable, with their own lives going on, though we've only teased deeply for some.
