When Laz finally performed the last spell his missing mentor left behind, he figured his hardships were over. Unfortunately, the very next day a mineral-eating parasite known as a "dragon" appeared in his lab. Not only is it a fortune to keep fed, it's incredibly illegal! And even worse, it ate the focus he used to cast spells.

The only person he can trust? Calder. An annoying, overly-flirty knight that was assigned to watch over him and stop his experimental spells from terrorizing the town. Thankfully the knight's crush on the wizard proved useful, and the two must work together to keep the illicit creature a secret from the law, all with the limited magic and resources of their poor town.

Along the way, Laz must decide if he's willing to open up to Calder, or remain the recluse wizard he has always been.
