This story is a second try from my first, which I have deleted due to spoilers for this one and to make myself feel better. I decided to tackle the story from a different angle and start with the early life of our heroine; plus a little reincarnation thrown in for good measure.

This story uses dice rolls made in the Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition system. I do not own D&D. I do however own most of the characters portrayed and the setting, with the exception of the main love-interest which is owned by my wife.

If you are put off by the fact that I am writing this for fun in my spare time or by time skips do us all a favor and don't read.

The Demon King's favorite toy is his puppets. Because of those, he became a total shut-in in his room. While he was in his eternal sleep, the hero woke him up through his dead puppet. Forcing him to come after her, get out of his room, and destroy that puppet.

When he came out of his room, no one recognized that he was the Demon King as he always used a puppet. His subordinates didn't know that he was the Demon King they followed. Concealing his true identity to his followers, he soon realized the current life they've had after he left. A new chapter unfolds as he experiences the new world around him.
