In a world where the lines between hunter and hunted blur, Callista navigates the treacherous waters of the Celestial Academy, where supernatural beings and secrets collide. Armed with her trusty blades and a healthy dose of snark, she finds herself entangled in a web of mystery, murder, and a romance that's equal parts sizzling and deadly, and enough twists to make your head spin.
With a cast of characters that includes a vampire roommate with a penchant for trashy novels, a Watcher resembling Mr. Darcy who sighs more than breathes, a brooding werewolf with a tragic backstory, and a nymph who may or may not be the world's most adorable third wheel, Callista's journey is a rollercoaster ride of emotions, action, and questionable life choices.
Imagine Hogwarts meets Wednesday Addams on a bender in Buffy's world, with an R-rated twist so dark it'd make your grandma clutch her pearls (don't ask). Are vampires the real villains, or is the Queen of the Damned playing a deeper game? World domination? Uncovering her true identity might be the key to stopping the apocalypse... like, yesterday.
The first chapter was perfect. From this chapter I expected a woman who hates vampires to death since a couple of vampires killed her entire town, but she disappointed me. She enters a school as an infiltrator to find clues about the vampire queen but suddenly the story changes completely, she goes from a woman who hated vampires and hunted them for years to a woman in love with a vampire who hesitates to kill vampires, all this in 20 or 25 chapters. The MC underwent a very rapid change from one extreme to another. At the beginning of the novel she seemed rude and sarcastic with everyone around her but when the vampire woman appears she transforms into someone shy, nervous and submissive. This is my opinion and don't let it stop you from watching the story, you might like it. The writing is good and so are the fights.
