Honestly, I love Kathryn's writings, I discovered her stuff over on TGST, and frankly, she has wonderful worlds, several of which would make great RPG settings. I really enjoyed "The Valkyrie" my only complaint is it feels like this was a prolog, our Protagonist has just started out their adventure. Sure the story resolves properly, but there is so much more that needs to be seen. ANd there is a promise of more, so can't wait. However at the same time, I am waiting patiently for the other story to male it to the apex, and for the big battle that's building, plus Rachel's big moment, I want to see it. After all, I'm also a Trans woman named Rachel. :P

This is an unbelievably refreshening story! The aliens-from-pagan-mythology trope is a good recipe that good authors can use to make a good plot. Which is exactly what happened here. But there is more: The folklore of nordic religions gets actually depicted as a serious religion, seriously practised by some of the characters. This fills me with a kind of respect that I didn't even know I had in this world dominated by Abrahamitic mythologies.

I feel quite captivated by Jason's struggle of trying to deal with desparation, saving his dad, all of Asgard and trying to come to terms with the results of his own drastically transformed body and the effects it has on his wellbeing.
