Synopsis

Francine Lataille is the villainess of an otome game called 'Personal Spring', and at some point she became self-aware of this. She began to learn things in ways unclear to her, and her knowledge carried over between playthroughs. She tried to struggle, to change the outcomes she knew were coming, but her words and actions were bound by the game's script. Gradually she came to accept that. She's just along for the ride. And gradually she fell in love with the protagonist, Emma Grenier, even though she can never express it.

After innumerable playthroughs she knows everything about the game. Every route, every choice, every event, every conversation, every interaction, and every ending; even those she's not actually present for. She even has some knowledge of the outside. She's not sure how, but it's all come to her bit by bit. There is nothing about the game she hasn't seen hundreds of times.

Until one day another New Game starts where something is different. It seems small at first, but things are not as they should be. Is it a glitch? Is she following a new script now? Or could it be the most terrifying possibility, that she is finally responsible for her own actions?

( I pushed the chapters out pretty fast, so it's done now. It was fun to revisit, and update it. )

Let's start this review off by saying: This is an absolutely sickly sweet fluffy thing that will make you squirm in delight while your teeth ache.

    Wordweaving:

    Spoiler

The grammar and spelling are excellent, I think I can count on one hand the number of mistakes I've seen, which are again lost in the sweetness of this story. The flow is very smooth as well, and you get sucked into the story very easily, wanting more even as you read.

    Characters:

    Spoiler

Please remember that this story is pretty short, but even for such a length the Author has managed to show us some unique (even if they're templates, but that's totally okay for this kind of Otome setting) characters, with our MC being the most developed one of course, you will see her change and fret and grow, closely followed by our little Emma, whose growth we get to witness through Fran's eyes, it's adorable. And the Author still managed to breathe in life to the side cast, brief as their appearances were, they still felt like real people. Do keep in mind tho that none of these characters are perfect, they all have faults, especially our MC, but that only makes them and her feel more real.

    World:

    Spoiler

The Author somehow managed to depict a pretty interesting world despite how short the story is, giving a very nice base for any possible further use of the Universe. And how the MC came to be is also pretty unique, I mean I've read a few novels with the MC being a in-game character that came to their senses, but this one was has a unique twist as to how it happens.

    Story:

    Spoiler

What to say that I haven't already gushed about... it's absolutely adorable, a bit of anxiety, but it's mostly just fun watching Fran fret over everything, going all tsun at times, while stumbling through other situations X3

    Summary:

If you want a break from the action and drama and high strung stories, and just want to sit back and have a nice, sweet, savory treat, this story is for you, I highly recommend it.
