Two minds; one body.
Two souls; merged perceptions.
I thought I knew what it meant to be human, until I crossed those boundaries.
I believed I knew my limits, until I expanded all I am.
My senses mapped over hers, and I learned how incredible her alien world was for us.
Her senses mapped over mine, and she learned how wondrous my alien world was for us.
Our worlds overlap. Our minds awaken and link together. Our hearts synchronize.
Our realities hold truth, in separation and in unity.
This is all because of what she did to me, and also what I decided for myself thereafter.
She and I are the most unusual pair we've ever known, a Human and an Altiri, each far apart, yet brought together by an incredible power. This is where my story begins. It's more than a crazy romance story; our intertwined lives is the embodiment of how I live, in this crazy world we call normal, with our secrets left untold.
This is our story. It has a beginning, but not an ending. Romance isn't all about walking away in the sweet sunset; it's messy, complex, and downright terrifying at times. No life is perfect. No relationship is easy. Still, I would never trade it for anything. Join me, as I breathe life into these moments, memory by memory.

Quick Note about the context of R18+ content: Overlap is not a story with frequent invocation of explicit content, only in certain and specific chapters, of which are also not-essential to the plot and are perfectly skippable. Part 5 of Overlap will specifically fit into the category altogether, and is entirely optional of a read.
At the moment of me writing this review, Overlap may be the most underrated hidden gem on this site. The author (so-far) adeptly explores body sharing, sensory experiences, and disabilities from the perspective of a struggling middle schooler in 2010 rural Georgia.
A few specifics that I appreciated:
Ultimately, I beg anyone who comes across this review to give this story a shot. Its quickly turned into one of my favorites and I hope it will for you too.
