A Terrarian, a new Jake. Inserted into the world of Danmachi with the dungeon not knowing what the hell is going on with the human that keeps on breaking it's things.
This novel is one of the best and most interesting takes on the danmachi series I've read yet and would definitely recommend it to any one looking for a good danmachi fan fiction to read👍
Danmachi is one of my favorite series to read fanfiction for, and I would have never thought to cross it with Terraria. That said, I just finished reading all the way to chapter 88 and I absolutely love the story and I can't wait to read more! I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for further updates.
This work presents itself as a novel that puts a character functioning off of terraria logic inside of the world of Danmachi, but it frankly does not satisfy either component.
The main character works off of the vague idea of game logic, able to do impossible feats for a terrarian character to terrarian items with terraria mechanics simply... because. Items can be deconstructed without shimmer, summons can be given new weapons, armor can receive modifiers, all arrows are wholly unbreakable... while it would be understandable for minor details to not cross over, or for the character to find an important exploit with how game mechanics interact with the real world, neither have occurred; terraria's logic is simply not present in the first place, replaced with the vague idea of game logic in general. The main character is also given a supposed limitation of 1 mod for terraria per level and immediately starts with... calamity and all of it's addons. While I could understand the inclusion of say, the calamity music mod, there were over 157 other calamity addons available of varying levels of officiality when that chapter released, many of which were incompatible with each other; not including other mods that had compatibility expanders or tie-in content with calamity at that time. Some of these available mods are large overhauls to calamity itself and others are cheat mods; not only is it impossible to tell which the main character received (as they could not have received all of them due to incompatibilities) but that is FAR more than "1" mod no matter how you even attempt to assess such a monumental amount of... extras. As for the inclusion of Danmachi? In the few chapters I was presented it seemed more like characters and buzzwords from Danmachi had been transported to a custom world rather than the setting now having a new character added to it; familiar terms like familia and familiar characters show themselves, but little functions like the actual work beyond lip service; I will mention that there is a double logic failure here as it presents an anime-dominant version of Danmachi but the monsters do not disappear when they die like in the anime, and seemingly (as in I did not notice it described) when the core is removed either, which is a failure on Danmachi's part. However, as a Terrarian, anything the main character kills should also drop their loot instantly, thus the anime method is the correct one to take in this case; and frankly I consider exploding into giblets optional. Finally, the story is riddled with grammatical errors, run-on sentences, overwrought with unnecessary details and often barren of important or useful ones. The one truly positive thing I have to say which prevented me from giving this story a one-star rating is that it has a very interesting idea.
As a neutral point, a noticable portion (30 out of the as of posting 88 chapters) are commissioned; I do not count the partially commissioned chapter because there is no way to tell how much was part of the commission.
I think under all of this is a genuinely good idea, but the whole thing needs improvement.
This is easily one of the best Danmachi fanfics Ive ever read. My only issue is how often the uploads come seem to come. I just hope there's not another year long break...

But no kiss ever came.
I’m ripped from my wedding and thrown into a medieval fantasy world with game-like elements. It may seem like a game, but that doesn’t matter to me, because
Alex Hunt was a smart man. By no means was he a genius, but he stood solidly in the above-average class of society. He thought that when he died, he would at least go with a bang.
Sadly for him though, his death was as generic as they came.
Dave died and surprisingly reincarnated with all his memories.
Unfortunately, it seems to be earth. Japan to be specific. Naruki City. Hmm sounds vaguely familiar. Maybe it was on the news or something. Oh well. Worse yet he has to learn Ja
Summary: A darker, older Harry Potter travels back in time and lands in his Fourth Year, returning from a future where things have undeniably gone to shit. But it’s alright. He has a plan.

Also, I did not realise this was smut. Sorry.
