One of the best things about the story is a truly fascinating bestiary of monsters. Most of these tend to hide under the camouflage of human skin. And that can be downright twisty. It keeps the pace tight and drives the mystery and action of the story. It makes you question the nature of nearly every character, including the Golden Knight himself. This fluidity of internal logic is reminiscent of a computer game world, where an occasional shuffling of reality can bring new elements into play. The two main characters are clearly drawn.
