A twist of fate, a broken nose, and a lot of cursing.
That was how David started his new life, the death of his mother still fresh on his mind, but instead of what he thought would happen.
He gained a power not even the tech of this world has seen yet.
Nanomachines, Son.

For those wondering, the world is AU.
And the 'Multiverse' thing is a long way off, there are far too many shenanigans possible in Cyberpunk to just leave.
I read this before watching edge runners. Im disappointed... the anime feels more like a grim dark spin off. I love how alive the characters feel. I really love how the MC is op but is slowly building up his power.
I feel like eqch character was saved in a way that makes sense and wasnt just boom they didnt die.

So this is hella cool and interesting. It uses a lot of vocabulary that is inherent to the world, like the anime. Therefore I'd recommend watching that before reading this, or googling the terms as you go. You get a rough understanding of what it is as you go, but it can probably get a bit overwhelming.
The grammar is good. Characters are good considering it's a harem. They still retain mostly themselves even if some of them are toned down/up a bit.
World is, well, if you've seen the anime it's obviously the same thing. Good as heck. It does expect me to have seen the anime though, at least some of it.
The going on missions can feel a bit repetitive. With the anime it skipped most of it and went fast through everything. Here it's based slower, going through each sequence etc..
David and his past relationships can be a bit eh? The novel says there's some sort of backstory with some people, I don't really feel it while reading though so the emotion isn't there. I don't even feel bad about the mother even if the writing is done extremely well to the point where David's burdens are genuinely expressed. It's just, there was never a scene about here, no talking, no flashbacks (I think?). Just know from David's perspective that she was an angel.
If this could have been done differently, I'd probably say have the main character be a new outside one and have them be established with the powers etc., instead of having David, an already established character as the main one again. There's millions of ways to build characters in this expansive world, but instead it's just the same people from the anime. Not that it's bad, it does build and expand on them and you could still have had them, just not the main character. This though is just my opinion, so I'm not gonna down my rating on this. It is subjective and would have made this different completely.
It isn't perfect, there are some things that could have been done differently to get more enjoyment, but I'd say it's a really good read. It's not a masterpiece, but it is hella entertaining following the characters. Guess you could say this is what I kind of wanted the anime to be, going into the big leagues and all.
