The story has gone so fast and skipped so much of his journey to this point that I cant empathize with or understand the MC's mindset at all. We know his name and what he did up until he was 5 in the prologue but after that all we get are massive time skips showing seemingly random moments that we have no context into why or how he does anything he does in these moments. It feels as though we are missing narrative arcs between each of these snapshots as events are brought up or referenced as though we, the readers, were meant to have already known the context. There comes a point that we SHOULD be able to see character growth, but with how little we actually see of the MC's character, it becomes meaningless. The author addresses the pacing issues in the AN chapter and admits that the pacing is too fast but at the same time they say it's not. 

TLDR: Too many time skips with too little insight into the MC leading to the story feeling like it's missing dozens of chapters in narrative arcs and overall confusion on the reader's end as to what's happening and why any actions are important to the narrative.
