Book 1 in the Nath'aniel Series
Mages, a subspecies of humanity which were forgotten to the pages of history. They were able to wield the energies of magic easier and quicker than any other group that attempted to learn the mystic arts on Earth. And today centuries, if not millennia, since their disappearance the Earth is different. We have planes and tanks, internet and radio. But it has other groups appearing as well. The Enhanced, people empowered through science to be better, stronger than the average person. And Mutants, those born with the rare X gene that grant them wondrous powers of varying application, that can trigger at any time. Sometimes at birth, puberty, or... more>> when you discover you wife and children dead in a trench. With some being as strong or stronger than an Enhanced, to people being able to manipulate metal and turn the various tools of the modern day against their user. But what would happen, when a group of these naturally Enhanced, the Brotherhood of Mutants, on the run from the law were to find one of the last bastions of the Magi. And perhaps the last mage.

This story is inspired by other Marvel fanficion, but takes concepts from outside of Marvel. This world is not the MCU, it is not the 616. It is a world inspired by them. Also it holds rules and mechanics inspired from the Fate Anime series, namely the concept of Servants. Humans empowered by myth and magic to be more than they are. This is novel 1 of a planned series, how long will it be I am not certain yet. But I did not want to just shove you, the reader, into a wild and twisted world, but rather build up to it, so some of you may see it as a slow burn. But hopefully for those of you giving it a shot, you will find it and the characters an entertaining distraction.

Sexual Content is ticked because there is sex hinted in one chapter of this book, but later books may be more blatant. (This is not smut). Gore is ticked because combat it semi realistic, super powered people will tear and rend normal opponents apart. Strong Language is ticked because some characters will be swearing.

Each chapter will be between 2200 and 2800 words, while interludes will be shorter (around 1500 words). [Note i do not include the chapter line nor the following two lines (the header) in my personal word count, so it may be about 15-20 word longer]

Okay, I found the correct script. So Side Note follows the story of some random maid with a thinking debuff called insanity and believes she has a power trapped in her left eye, but not in a chuuni way, since it turns out she does have a power in her left eye! So do her shadows!

Huh? The shadow part is a bit too far along the story? Eh, whatever. It's not like I spoiled she dies in the end or something… does she die in the end? She dies at random points in the story? That's stupid… Woah! Don't cut my paycheck! It's a great idea! Very funny! It adds to the organised chaos thing you've got going! Put the gun down! I'll finish it!

Read along as the main character travels about in Mendass, meeting with peculiar characters like the spirit of a lemon tree, a reality-bending bunny girl, and at least six different people named Jack. Her journey will start in Hamblin, a town found at the very edge of the world, literally right next to an endless abyss, the place of her employer, the Queen of Hamblin, who will... execute the... am I reading this right? Are you really starting the story with the main character about to be executed? Is this some sort of fake protagonist switch-up? Causing some government agencies’ to take notice, and send their own personnel to check out the region. So now can Nath’aniel, Magneto and the others find a place for themselves in the Savage Lands?

This story is the continuation from A Mage in Marvel,... more>> if you have not already read that story. You should do so before continuing. This novel is longer than the first one, so it may be a bit much for some, but sadly as with a good story it was just too hard to reduce or remove some parts, as each chapter somewhat leads to the next.

Sexual Content is ticked, because in this novel unlike the last one there are a couple of explicit scenes. They are not full chapters but the shorter Interludes and are marked with a (NSFW) in their chapter title. Gore is ticked, because again, these are generally super humans fighting and killing regular people, so it can be a bit messy. Strong Language is ticked, because some of these characters just have potty mouth and swear.
