Our protagonist. (Prologue)
5’6” (5'2 post-isekai), red hair, gray-blue eyes.
His/Her name (心の在処) means "Whereabouts of the Heart", which seems sweet until you realize that it's a blatant reference; courtesy of Shimizu.
Pre-Isekai: He’s always mistaken for a girl, but he doesn’t actually mind his appearance, just the reactions of others towards it. He's also a (not-so) natural born Touhou fan, for some reason. (Outfit: standard Japanese high schooler)
Post-Isekai: She doesn't actually mind having been turned into a girl at all, just the fact that even god himself managed to mistake her for a girl. She also wants to have a little sister, for some reason. (Outfit: SoEW Marisa, look in the spoiler for details.)
Favorite Character Pre-Isekai: "Shion. Her being genuinely happy thinking that everyone liked her singing and are cheering when in reality, they're just panicking because of the fire behind her is honestly kinda cute."
Favorite Character Post-Isekai: "Fujiwara no Mokou. I finally understand the feeling of wanting to off yourself but it being literally impossible."
I’m not good at drawing, but I think most of this turned out alright. The bit of the dress I drew looks really off, but you get the idea.
The God of Things (Chapter 1)
7’2” (in his avatar), gold hair, white eyes
Among other gods, he’s basically the collective little brother. He wants the others to take him seriously, so he decided to increase his power by summoning a person to create things in his world. (Outfit: A t-shirt made to look vaguely similar to a toga and jeans.)
Favorite Sibling : "All of them!"
The Best Fairy / The Multiversal Constant (Chapter 3)
Fun Sized, Blue Hair, Blue Eyes.
Whether you realize it or not, in every dimension, there a few things that stay consistent no matter what. One of them is Cirno. In every world, there will be a slightly dimwitted ice fairy (or fairy-adjacent) that lives near a lake, freezes frogs, and tries to get stronger, whether we like it or not. Their temperament may vary. Ours here is much more timid and soft than the average, and isn’t actually named Cirno, because individuality. (Outfit: Typical Cirno, but with a yellow bow instead of a blue one. Now with bonus witch hat!)
While Arika did say that Cirno was a universal constant, she meant it as a joke. Now she has to take care of a 5-year-old.
The characters of her name (心の知露) come from Arika's first impressions of her, combined with the obvious reference. Chi (知) means knowledge, because "This Cirbo is smart?", and Ro (露) means dew, because she was at a lake in the morning.
Favorite Person: “Big sis!”
Arika's Mother (SS 1)
6'7", Black hair, Sky blue eyes
On the surface, a loving but slightly ditzy mother/housewife, but underneath the underneath, she is the most hardcore otaku you will never meet. Luckily for Arika, she had the sense to only share the tasteful knowledge she had, since there are things that kids shouldn't be exposed to. Besides basically indoctrinating him/her into a few fandoms, she's honestly a pretty good mother. But, for a person who's name literally means "Clear Waters of the Heart" (心の清水), she's really not living up to it. Also known as Shimizu Hansha (反射の清水)
She's also the one that Arika got his/her need to reference things from. If their needs are left unfulfilled, they will start to have migraines. Why? Nobody knows.
Favori- "THE ONE PIECE IS REEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAALLLLL!!!"
The Protagonist of a Different Story / Arika's Father (SS 2)
6'0" I swear he isn't 5'11", please don't hurt me!, red hair, gray eyes.
Shouji (正持) is normal.
...Well, he would be if not for the fact that everything in his surroundings seems to go fucking insane. If you can imagine a situation that would happen in a gag manga, it's probably happened to him, regardless of what the laws of reality want you to believe.
Slip on a banana peel? Check.
Completely random, yet strangely harmless explosions? Double check.
Extorted by a gang with comedically large pompadours? Triple check.
Hanging out with the girl who beat the shit out of aforementioned gang? Well, that's more of a romcom development, but I'll count it anyways.
Random girl he talked to once a decade ago breaks into his house and attempts to sexually assault him before being literally thrown out the window by his wife? ...I thought we agreed not to mention that one.
Ending up with Shimizu though is, funnily enough, the strangest thing to happen to him. Paradoxically, her already being as insane as she is negates whatever effects the reality corruption could have on her.
A comment from the man himself: "Sometimes I wake up and wonder if I'm the weird one. And then I look at my wife and son and think to myself, 'Nope, it's totally the rest of the world.' I mean, whatever being was in charge of creating those two really needs to be retired, because something went horribly wrong. Or right. Or both."
Fanservice But Without the Fans (Chapter 11)
6'2", Curly gray hair, Hazel eyes
Gazelle is married to her job; and she'd like to get a divorce as soon as possible.
After turning 23 (a week before the story starts), she realized that maybe killing herself trying to finish everyone's paperwork isn't the greatest idea. She constantly gets the feeling that someone is laughing at her name.
Oh, and she's the king's cousin. Almost forgot to mention that.
Favorite Style of Coffee: "I cAN't EveN TElL anYMoRe, iT AlL TaSStEs THe samE *sobs*"
Anyone who points out a grammatical/spelling error will have their name put here.
...So far though, I haven't made any, I guess.
Yay?
ARC 1: A Good Day to Die | Status: Ongoing
This book is quite good, largely due to the author’s energy, which is palpable in the writing. However, as it is currently quite short, there’s not much more to say at this moment.
